Re: MATCHWATCH : Shrewsbury Town (h)

Don’t think we ever especially looked like scoring second half but we still had lots of ‘opportunities’’. Can think of Mola and Kelvin having shots which didn’t miss by much, Azeez should have scored when the keeper made that decent save, Knibbs (rightfully) pulled up for a foul when he scored, sava...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Shrewsbury Town (h)

I think it’s fair to ask questions of Button. He generally looks the part but just doesn’t seem to save a lot. None of the 3 yesterday were howlers by any stretch but could possibly have done better on all I don’t think Shrewsbury were ever especially comfortable- there was a period where they were ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Shrewsbury Town (h)

Thought the ref was actually pretty good first half. Good advantage on our goal. Then he just seemed to lose the plot and get worse and worse. 9 bookings were unnecessary and only 4 mins injury time when there should have been double that

Re: MATCHWATCH : Shrewsbury Town (h)

windermereROYAL Shrews have scored 26 goals in 34 games . 6 against us. Azeez was so poor in the 2nd half, his crossing was atrocious.

They actually looked half decent coming forward I thought. Their RW was good. Maybe we just made them look good

Re: MATCHWATCH : Shrewsbury Town (h)

Seen a replay of the first. Button can definitely save it. He takes a step towards the middle of the goal when the shot is taken, meaning he can't get remotely close to it. Must be time for Pereira soon? Haven’t seen the highlights but the shot got a massive deflection to wrong foot him. Didn’t rea...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Shrewsbury Town (h)

1st half was a decent affair. Couple of quality goals by their lads, but they were given so much space around the edge of the box. 2nd half was like watching pre-Christmas Reading - oxf*rd dreadful (with the exception of Elliot who did well) Yeah basically that. We played well first half, 2 poor go...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

Yes we played terribly against Fleetwood but were the better side second half and should have won. Dean missed a sitter minutes before they scored

They were bang average. Absolute low point for me that game

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Tbf Vickers was only 18 when he was playing for us and not a ‘big’ 18 either. He looks about 15/16.

Would normally expect players to be coming through at 20 or so. Kelvin, Abbey and co haven’t looked out of place physically when they’ve come in

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

Think Elliott will come good in time. Definitely some quality there

Would still have Mbengue starting. He is a very good player at his best

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Looks useful and scored a lot of goals

Pang will be rubbing his hands at the prospect of selling him to Southampton to pay the ticket sales staff over the summer

Re: Selles In

Not necessarily. He's had an inconsistent career and would probably start on the bench at a Championship club. May be better to stay in a team where he's performing with a manager who trusts him. But that obviously all depends on the takeover and whether he thinks the club can match his ambitions. ...

Re: Selles In

If for instance a champ club came in for him - say a Millwall (though think Harris is going back there), do you think he’d stay here? Would like to think so but wouldn’t blame him at all if he didn’t Do find it fairly interesting that Selles now clearly has a favoured side; even to the point that w...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

Savage seems to have improved a lot since being ‘dropped’. Been far more impressed recently. Bindon is a real talent and Mbengue when not doing things mind blowingly stupid is a good foil for him Noticeable how much better the spirit is at the club this year, posts on Twitter showing the subs warmin...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

Tbh I hadn’t looked at the table before the game - that really was a huge 3 points

Again the big 4 doing what they do best and Mbengue/Bindon seems to be working

Excellent night all round

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

We need to win as many games as soon as possible and secure our L1 status - we don't know what the twat of an owner will/or won't do so we need as many points on the board (just typing that shows how low we've sunk). Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves. Yeh, a relegation battle to th...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

I do till feel we need to try to grab as many points whilst everyone basically is fit. Still scares me that we rely on Azeez who was perma-injured before this year, then Smith who gets a beating every game, plus Wing and Knibbs who have played a lot this season
