Re: Speculation - Out Of Contract Players

Not many names on there that appeal to me, but this is just a small selection of those available anyway. 1. Clearly, after the departure of ALF, we need a striker or two (or possibly three) that can score regularly as the club has none on the books now. For all the faults that became evident by our ...

Re: Rumour - Dean Cox

I bet you lot can't wait to sing the same song that the Orient fans have for him. Decent and busy player but more of a 'come inside off the line' type than an old school outside left hugging the touchline. Not sure if Charles Watts has inside info on that, or it's just his opinion, but he often repe...

Re: January Transfer Window

Yep I imagine we will be sat on this thread on deadline day watching players join other clubs... probably better to have a good book with you. Perhaps we can get a loan? OK probably not! I live in Saudi at the moment. The window will close at 2am my time... probably should go to bed early, shouldn'...

Re: RUMOUR: Mohamed Sissoko

Adkins has today stated, directly, that the Sissoko deal is very unlikely to happen now. Also he didn't make any positive sounds on loan players coming in, but did repeat that we have to try to get to January in contention, wait until the window opens again, and then try and push on from there. Noth...

Re: Striker

None of the above. What we need is the right kind of striker, not just any striker. It's very unlikely we will be able to do that at this stage anyway. ALF is a great finisher, but cannot play alone up there, hence he is largely ineffective through no fault of his own. Nigel will either have to chan...

Re: RUMOUR: Royston Drenthe

Its more like 3 so far. I was the first with Leigertwood, I was also the first with another. If you dont want me to pass on my knowledge then fine. But I do have links within the club, although I am not an insider. These players may be ones mentioned by the manager as a maybe, a "I like the lo...

Re: Brian - Goals on Sunday

Brian is the studio guest on our channel (PLTV) ahead of the Saints game today. To clear the facts: He was given a summer budget and he spent it. He said could not have done any more with what was made available to him. He tried to make two big signings in January, and acknowledged AZ made money ava...

Re: Gonearsson?

It's good to see he made it home at last, because for the last week or so his whatsapp profile pic has been showing him sunning himself by a pool, with a beer handily placed and status of 'this retirement thing is quite nice'. Did he say where he had been? Maybe the beer is to blame for the slightly...

Re: Poll -next manager

If we're basing our decision on what happened in 2006 then we may as well bring Coppell back tbh. Coppell is on a series of TV shows on Premier League TV today (overseas) and has directly confirmed he is not in the frame for a return as the club is taking a different direction. Just to clarify, he ...

Re: Fan for AD Sports feature

Ultimate pro, of course. It's a shame none of you guys can see Premier League World today on AD Sports. Steve Coppell is the guest and he is talking so openly about our second season in the top flight. Some information that we could speculate on, but hearing it first hand now is fascinating. Plenty ...

Re: Fan for AD Sports feature

Haha, I saw that feature on AD Sports a month or two back.

AD Sports is great - every Premier League game live in HD, plus all the sideshow programmes that go with it.

Do they show Premier League TV in UK also now or is it just shown overseas?

Re: Dubai - Training

Great article posted up. I'm sure the pleasant climate over here in the Gulf was appreciated by the squad. Whether our goal of survival is achieved or not, this sounds like a good idea to me. FWIW, the lad mentioned in the article (Omar Abdulrahman) was a star performer as UAE won the recent Gulf Cu...

Re: Sad news

I've just seen this thread too and I am shocked and saddened to hear this news. Sybil was a charming, friendly, welcoming and energetic lady. Her passion and knowledge of RFC was immense. I will always remember seeing her down at Sonning Lane and, as others have said, at numerous away days. I don't ...

Always much hyped in East Africa but then most Africans talk plenty of nonsense, my wife included  He has been a bit unlucky that his progress has stalled, although not getting the City move wasn't a bad thing imo. If he can fulfil his potential he could be a very useful player for a club like ...

Re: Back from the Game/pub/computer: Newcastle

I'm fortunate enough to watch us in crystal clear HD every week and to be honest I don't care if it's scrappy, lucky or whatever. Great spirit these last two weeks, and whilst we do lack quality, we're keeping ourselves in with a chance of survival if we fight like this. This game was down to two fa...

Adebayor expected to sign for Spurs, will be interesting to see if that effects the Defoe situation or not.

As ambitious and unlikely as it is, a massive yes for me if we have any chance of doing this deal.
