Re: Arrest Ray Ilsley

floyd__streete Isn't Chris Johnson a Liverpool fan anyway?

Second team. He even took it to ridiculous levels in the late 80s when he had a season ticket on the Kop and went to Reading home games and Liverpool home games alternate weeks. Saw some good football at that time (at least once a fortnight anyway).

Re: RUMOUR - Andy Griffin

Yes he did. I think he would be a good signing and a solid player at this level with a lot of experience to see us safely through this car crash of a season. I know self praise is no praise but......! Never had any doubts personally but I think he still slotted in better than I thought he would do.

Re: Arrest Ray Ilsley

I remember Ray from away trips in the 80's on the coach he and Denny always made sure we were there before the kick off. Usually about 5 hours before! As the previous knobber mentioned has anyone ever seen him smile? Happy retirement Ray Could well be because the only time he did smile he was assau...

Re: Arrest Ray Ilsley

There's only one Chris Johnson Not condoning violent behaviour but he is responsible for THE best comedy moment in the Rendezvous. After the Port Vale, 3-0 up - drew 3-3 game, at Easter of the 93/94 season, remember it as if it was yesterday. The memory sadly might reduce Ray to a different sort of...

Re: Graham Kemp

In my one season of Reading Sunday League - 85/86 - we played Courage and I seem to recall: 1. What a fantastic playing surface they had - not relevant, but interesting to me 2. They had a striker and a keeper who occassionally turned out for Reading resvs. Anyone back this distant memory up? Longs...

Wesley Sneijder is making the Dutch tick along very nicely thank you very much. In a similar way as he does for Inter Milan.

Row Z Royal
Maguire Adebayor left a couple of days ago IIRC.

Going home early, like the rest of the Africans at this WC.

Probably has to go back to pre-season training at City where he will pretend to be a top footballer again next year.

Re: World Cup betting

Tempted by Portugal at 13/5. No Kaka or Elano for Brazil... I don't think Elano will be missed and tbf Kaka has so far been off the pace. The Brazilians do look strong defensively,in fact I think they are now the new Italy whereas Argentina are more like the old Brazil,i.e "we can score more t...

Re: Who's your favourite co-commentator at the WC

David Pleat, for the simple reason that he knows more about football than anyone else. and for his kerb crawling anecdotes. Agree totally about the token black studio guests strategically placed in the middle of the "three wise men" style pundit layout. Adebayor is really awful and needs ...

Going off topic a bit I know what you mean about the old grounds. I used to like the character of Deepdale before it was redeveloped and Roker Park.

Messiah ...and the gits get to drink at their seats.

I know what you mean but still, drinking beer in the concourse and watching football > drinking at your seat and watching egg chasing.

Buy yourself a hip flask and fill it with whisky.

why does it have to be so flipping secretative anyway? Once they've agreed a design, why can't they just show us it and then tell us it will be in stores from July 9 or whatever? Tis all about building the anticipation and excitement to fever pitch.... only to find out some utter kant at Puma has d...

Re: England vs Germany - THE BUILD UP THREAD

I thought that was much better yesterday and we show encouraging signs for the game against Germany. Maybe there is some truth in the comments that we have big game players that can raise their games for the big club European nights but not for Wigan away some times. This attitude sinks in when they...

Re: Stephen Hunt praises Reading FC

Nothing to show as they spunked their Prem money on paying lots of average players over the odds wages.

Do you think Stephen would have volunteered to reduce his wages so that the club had more money to spend on the training facilities?
