Re: Season Ticket Prices for 2016/2017

Probably best to ask after the refunds have been processed. Have you had any response from the club yet? If you don't get a refund will you still attend games? I sent it afternoon of Friday, so not expecting one until Tuesday at the absolute earliest. Having checked the terms and conditions I don't...

Re: STAR statement on McDermott sacking

I think that's a good statement - although I wouldn't have minded if it had been even stronger.

I think serious questions need to be asked about the ownership and the direction the club is going in, and amongst the supporters STAR are in as good a position as anyone to lead that process.

Ian Royal
bobby1413 Does anyone know how many season tickets we have sold so far?

Probably best to ask after the refunds have been processed.

Re: The "who do you want next as manager "poll

Making the decision to sack a popular manager wasn't easy. But they want success. And you and I want success. So would BM have brought us success? Almost certainly not. Why the fcuk not? He'd done it before, which tends to be an indicator of future performance. You know horse shit. Under the circum...

Re: McDermott Sacked (AGAIN)

Too angry to post my full thoughts right now. We bring back a loyal servant who was harshly sacked previously only to dismiss him after 5 months, seemingly having spoken to at least one other candidate whilst he was still in charge? Disgraceful. The club has pretty much died for me today. What's th...

Re: McDermott Sacked (AGAIN)

Ok. We've all slept on it and it wasn't a nightmare  For myself, today I just think back to the Ewood park game only a few weeks back when Brian himself said doing so poorly for so many games consecutively towards the end of the season would not stand him in good stead with his talks with the ...

Re: Thanks Brian!

Thank you Brian McDermott indeed. Quite simply, he is my favourite Reading manager of them all.

He represents so many of the values that the current owners completely lack.

And he's done far more for this football club than the current owners are ever likely to do.

Ian Royal Well that's that feeling well and truly gone.

More likely to get relegated than ever.

Absolutely.

And it will be hard to feel any sympathy for the owners if that happens.

Re: Strangely optimistic about next season.

Certainly no reason why it can't be a good season. We've had cases before of losing a few good players but adding well and having a very good season. We're starting from a lower point than most of those seasons but equally we're less reliant on any one individual and I suppose there is more scope fo...

Re: How impressed are you with BMcD's return to the club?

I think they said on MOTD last night that West Brom haven't won in 8 and Stoke haven't won in 6. This kind of run can happen near the end of a season where collectively there is less to play for. I think our recent run can be explained by the results not being particularly meaningful, some experimen...

Re: Bye Nicky

Disappointed to see Hammond go and a bit more uneasy about the club now, particularly concerning why he's decided to go now (.though I sense his role has possibly diminished since Anton arrived in 2012.) Personally I think the club needs to get back to a similar strategy to that it had pre-AZ wherea...

Re: BFTG Hull (H)

My own take on the penalty incident is the referee thought the assistant was flagging for a penalty when he was actually flagging for a corner. The flag across the chest signal is no longer used by assistants indicating a penalty - if you look at the second image on the second page of this document ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (a) sponsored by a Paul Holsgrove winner

Dellor's really not good at asking difficult questions. I think you need to get the interview going to begin with and then ask the tough questions decisively rather than stuttering through them right from the off.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (a) sponsored by a Paul Holsgrove winner

I agree with what Mick has just said.... I don't care about results if McDermott plays the youth in the last few games. Give the young guns a run out now. I don't want to watch anymore Piazon, Vydra or anyone else. Is Niall Keown available? If so I could see him getting some matches with Gunter inj...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (a) sponsored by a Paul Holsgrove winner

Frustrating to lose but sounds like we competed pretty well and were unfortunate to narrowly lose to a team destined for promotion. Not going to over-react to it.

The Williams/McShane incident is a bit more concerning.

Re: BFTG Forest (H)

Really enjoyed that one. Tactics worked a treat and our shape in the first half were spot on with the full-backs getting forward well. I was always confident we were going to score - no team is going to score every chance and I'm not sure it was particularly down to bad finishing (one header was wel...

Re: Dellor moaning about Vydra again!!!

 Favouring an incompetent employee because they're a 'lovely guy' is bad enough. But announcing to the public that that is what you're doing is not my idea of good management. The only person he favoured him over on Saturday was Cox. Id prefer vydra to start over Cox, on the whole. Who else wa...

Re: Dellor moaning about Vydra again!!!

Brian getting a bit flustered and annoyed trying to answer Dellor's questions about him... I thought it was a really good interview from McDermott actually and thought he came out of it well. 'I didn't start the irrelevant conversation!' was probably my favourite line when Dellor tried to backtrack...
