Re: Eastleigh (A)

fcuk getting a train to football these days btw. too expensive an unreliable. just drive No good for those of us who's day out isn't complete without 8 pints and a kebab though. Plus one, but I’d settle for a ploughman’s or pastie/pie. I was up in Leeds for work last summer. Decided to have a ploug...

Re: Wycombe (A)

Not a fan. The White Horse (posted above) is on the walk out of town but north from the route to the ground. Don't know if they still do the dancing girls. Nearest pub to the ground is probably the Hour Glass, solid if unspectacular. For beer variety, Mad Squirrel and Heidrun. The one by the train s...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Arsenal U21s (h)

Vickers seems to play as a 2nd striker. Now 4222 is seemingly replaced by 433 in the league, how does he fit in? Could he take a wide berth? I get the criticism of Azeez, but he gives you work rate. I haven't seen enough of Vickers to know how good his tracking back is. I've fancied Vickers wide ri...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Arsenal U21s (h)

Been probably asked, but when is the date for the next round of this? And will it still be divided north vs north / south vs south? Did just look - week commencing 4th December, and it remains regional until the QFs in the new year. Next round is seeded so can have an idea of which 7 teams we might...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Arsenal U21s (h)

We've got a talented but mostly young and inexperienced squad. When its like for like, they do well.

In an ideal world, they'd be eased into the matchday squad and given time and space to properly develop.

If we get an Elm Park one, as well, I'll dig out some of my favourite Legs and Co performances.

blythspartan I know this is only against their under 21s, but if we win this one will it count as finally breaking the Arsenal hoodoo? Hopefully, if we go 4 goals up we’ll be able to hang on for the win.

Re: BTFG Shrewsbury

Up until the Added Time board went up, that was a solid, if imperfect, away performance. Their keeper looked dreadful, especially his kicking and positioning. We were snapping into tackles in a way that we rarely have this season. One good goal, one maybe lucky one, Azeez just needs to hit that for ...

Re: Eastleigh away - FA Cup round two

Of the older players, Drinkwater, Halilovic and Araruna don't appear to have played for anyone following that season (although Araruna is almost certainly because of injuries). Dele-Bashiru went back to Watford following his loan and has only featured in just over 1,000 (just under twelve full 90 m...

IN! one of the blocks had a fair few seats left, but the others were practically sold out.

When we played there in the League Cup, they put on Sweet Caroline between full time and penalties ... a packed away end outsung the PA system. Lovely stuff.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

The huge-if-true revelation that Ashley lives in Burnham makes perfect sense now with regard to buying the club. He's got his Saturdays all mapped out. Hops on the Elizabeth line to Reading, bus to the club, few beers with mates, after the match off to the Purple Turtle where he strips off as usual...

Re: Record Watch 23/24

Due to two Leicester supporting lads in my local, I've seen them a few times this year. The performances have been very solid. They're a really good team, with some excellent individuals. If anyone's going to come danger close, I think it may well be them.
