They were a Premiership team struggling to come to terms with the Championship, we are a Championship team struggling in the Premiership....

They were the best team in the CC last season, even though they under performed, they had a squad (unlike us) of PL quality. on top of that they have invested wisely with quality players that have played there before. love him or hate him big Sam leaves BM some way behind when it came to preparing for the new season.

So they've played one good team and City haven't been anywhere near as good this season as they were last year.

For me the difference is experience. To win/do well in the championship you need lots of championship experience it's a completely different league that we all know is difficult to get out of the league plays different football with a different style. Both us and Saints have lots of good championship players and experience but are lacking in the premier league equivalent. WH with Fat Sam lacked the experience/ know how to win the Championship but don't lack it to do well in the prem. The style of football they play is more suited against prem sides than championship sides.

Their squad feels at home in the PL so they aren't entering games with as much trepidition and they expect to stay here - I guess "confidence" might have summed that up better. They've got more players with more recent PL experience. They've been a bit luckier. They had less work to do in terms of squad building than we did. Their manager has lots of PL experience.

How's that for starters?

Played Southampton, Wigan, Villa, Fulham, Norwich, Sunderland, QPR by far the easiest start out of
any of the promoted teams. That and a fair amout of random luck. The difficulties of the fixtures
will be changed in the next 8 games. Reading play the teams mentioned West Ham have a real difficult
8 games. City at home possibly not being the hardest game they face in the next 8

How the fark can you say they were the best team in the Champ?

I think it's more had the best squad than were the best team. It's debateable, but I don't think it's far wrong.

Yep well known fact that the best team always comes third and sneaks up in the play-offs

 Quite clearly they didn't perform to the level they could and arguably ought to have done. Just as we outperformed our level, a little.

Perhaps they aren't as good as you think. Why do you think Reading outperformed? Based on what?
