REF AT WEST HAM HOME

Anyone else reckon he had a soft spot for Hammers?

not really. i believe if he had a soft spot he would have sent pog off after a couple of fouls/handball that could have been yellows easily...tbf both sides were scrappy and could have had players sent off though.

The calls seem to go in their favor a bit more than to us...but who gives a f@#k, we got the 3 points.

Both teams should have had red cards. Thought the ref lost control of the game during the second half. Turned a blind eye to a couple of studs-up tackles and that was that, couldn't give cards out for them any more.

Agreed - he was clueless: I was going to say he lost control, but he never had at any stage of the game

West Ham had about 10 free kicks in 5 minutes. Plus I lost count on the amount of corners/throw ins that were ours

No, that match was just impossible to referee.

If he was biased, he wouldn't have booked Tomkins for dissent, and wouldn't have allowed Hunt to keep the ball in the corner.

West Ham were going down at every opportunity, and there were a few off the ball incidents that you couldn't expect him to see. Oliver also couldn't be expected to know that West Ham were going to deliberately target Kebe, and then we didn't make it easy for him by protesting almost as furiously and exaggerating contact. If Oliver had given out too many cards, it would have fallen apart.

He didn't have a good game, but I think accusations of bias are unfounded- just an inexperienced ref backed up against the wall.

Carlton Cole should have been sent off for an off the ball kick aimed squarely at one of our players after a fair tackle. Referee was looking right at it and absolutely bottled the decision. Poor.

I thought the Oliver did a fantastic job in difficult conditions. I don't necessarily agree with every decision made (for either team!) but he was certain in everything he did. Good all round performance.

Shocking call on a Harte tackle which clearly got the ball. Then booked Harte. Utterly ridiculous

Strongly disagree. Yes, it was a hard match to referee but I bet you were one of the 22k+ people who had a mare every time West Ham got the advantage

I thought that was an obvious booking tbf, Harte was out of position and out paced so he took him down from behind to break up the attack.

The attacker dived, but it was still a foul and a caution.

He won the ball and got the player with follow through from behind, always a booking these days and one worth taking.

A tough game to referee, but I thought he was poor today.

Ridiculous comment. A referee favours no teams!

Decisions go for and against. He actually did not have a bad game. Yes Cole should of walked but if you don't see it you don't give it.

We don't help ourselves with some ridiculous decision making generating free kicks for the opposition.

Oliver ain't the best we will see but he ain't the worst either.

Why defend the ref he was extremely poor and intent on using his whistle at every opportunity to give West Ham a free kick with Nolan in his ears all game.

When Reading were clattered or fouled nothing given, the Cole incident on Gunter a prime example when he put his blinkers on when it was right in front of his eyes.

Worst ref at the Mad Stad this season by a mile.
