I was very impressed with him when he came on. He was a cut above Karacan, and the recent performances of Leigertwood. Very tenacious and committed in the tackle. If only he was given a chance sooner.

You mean if only he was fit sooner. He's only had strapping off his knee in the last week or two and he was clearly in no way fit to play in his earlier 45 minutes.

No. He has been fully fit for at least 5 weeks. Also, there were other players playing with minor injuries ahead of him. That is neither by-the-by now. I'm delighted he got a chance today and more so that he took it.

The Beardy Man Brought something extra out of Guthrie having another ball player alongside him too.

This was the best bit for me. Wasn't just Carrico's individual performance, but having two balls players in the middle seemed to energise the whole front six.

What a strange strange situation that has been then. Any idea why he hasn't even been included on the bench (other than once I think)? Personal problems?

Based on today's game alone Carrico, McCarthy and Guthrie should form the basis of the team next season.....

Expecting to be brought back down to earth after the Norwich game.....

----------------McCarthy
Gunter - Morrison - Mariappa - LB-
-----------Carriço -- Guthrie --
---RW----------- CAM-------------LW
--------------------ST------------

Start of building an alright side. Keep Hunt as a backup option if he'd sign, get the imperssion Adkin likes him (although he wants 2+ years).

grey_squirrel A signing sponsored by You Tube (and watched by McDermott having mislaid his glasses). Lets hope he is costing us less than Winston Bogarde did Chelsea.

Royal Ginger Carrico = Second hand car with a patched up radiator.

Extended-Phenotype Well, as Brian The Genius decided not to do any scouting prior to one of the biggest seasons in our history, I'm not surprised we ended up signing a paraplegic

windermere_royal why on earth do you think all of these big sides that showed an interest pulled out? appalling management of the highest level.

Scarface Horrific and embarrassing signing

Without considering new signings, I think we could happily play 4-4-2 next season, building towards being able to play 4-2-3-1 if we get promoted. And have a decent chance of a Play off challenge if not better.

------------------McCarthy
--Gunter--Morrison-Mariappa--Kelly
Kebe-------Carrico-Guthrie---McAnuff
------------------Pog-ALF

Subs: Henly, Cummings, Akpan, Robson-Kanu/McCleary, Hunt/Blackman

Or drop ALF and add in Akpan.

I was so pleased we got him in the transfer window and couldn't wait for him to play, let's hope he plays more often!

Solid.

Read the game well.

Tackled.

Passed.

Great mannerism.

8/10

Would have got my MOTM vote if it wasn't for McCarthy. Excellent performance and looks like he could be a very good player for us.
