From a friend of mine and Huddersfield box holder:

"I thought Reading did a job on us today. They came here with a game plan and played it well. They always looked dangerous on the counter and they defended very well; one of the best sides to come here this season. Considering how many injuries they have, they'll be top six no problem this season. Drenthe went down a little too easily, but we wouldn't be complaining if he was wearing our colours. He didn't look the fittest but still looked lively. I didn't get McAnuff in a central role though. Easily possessed and looked a weak link. I assume he played there due to injuries. One the whole we rightly feel disappointed, but they took their chances and we didn't, and that's why we lost today."

Considering the above comments about their surprise at us being top six, it seems the opinions vary considerably.

Caught their BBC local radio after the game. Apparently we're a bunch of diving cheats and the referee was hopelessly biased in our favour. So about as sour as grapes can get really.

Mixed bag of comments form the Forest fans. Most thought they threw away two points as a result of Billy Davies' substitutions, and they need a striker. A lot thought we were crap though so have included some of their comments

"Reading Didn't turn up for 94 minutes"

"We could of quite easily have got 6 points off Reading, we've got 1. Lucky bastards."

"One point a poor return from a game we dominated for large spells but we don't usually get much at Reading."

"A draw away at Reading is a decent result. Simple as."

" Just dominated a promotion rival on their home patch for 80 mins."

"Reading were absolutely dog shit. No wonder they've lost 3 on te bounce prior to this game. Lol at their fans celebrating like they had just won the champions league."

"That Reading team is a lot more expensive than ours its testament to Billy Davies and his team today Reading fans know they didnt deserve that point."

"Reading were shocking and I feel the Leicester"s of this league would have left there today having won 2 or 3 nil."

"10 players out and have been underwhelming all season"

"the fact that at the start we may have been happy at a draw the fact that Reading were so dreadfully poor in the game has to be taken into account, and a draw against such poor opposition on the day must be seen as an under-achievement."

" reading arent the intimidating team at the moment people were making out."

"Ref was a home banker today as well Reading could easily have been down to ten as there were some horror tackles flying about"

Reading were atrocious first half, improved second half but we were still relatively comfortable.

well its the worse defeat in my lifetime.

im 30 so at least DF has left his mark, i'll be telling the grand kids 30 years down the line... "the worse defeat i remember was a total annihilation at Reading where we were smashed 7-1, some massive bell-end called DF was boss, he had this crazy, contradicting philosophy which meant if a player played well one week he was sidelined for the following two and he preached how amazing he was with youngsters, yet all our young up and coming players were loaned out and never given a chance"

There are positives. It didn't rain.

That penalty decision was complete bollocks too. I don't want to have to watch it again, so I'm sticking resolutely by it.

You would all be very silly to describe the whole of Berks as a sh*thole. It depends what you look for in an area if it is opportunity to earn a 50k + wage and live in places with low crime then most of Berkshire wipes the floor with most places in the north west. However as Ardy and Kieron have pointed out the county (Berks) has absolutely no character and not even little villages like Arborfield have any sorts of community spirit, people in these parts think about number 1 and in the main their sole aim is to earn as much as possible despite the impact on anyone else (Kids etc). To most people who have been born and bred in the south east they do not understand community spirit and the idea of everyone clubbing together, they don't understand that there is more to life than money and they generally feel that good honest jobs (factory work, building etc) are for thickos and that people who work in such must either have low aspirations or be really really dim. In reality we all know different and I openly admit that I miss Horwich everyday. I would take the community spirit Horwich over the middle class poshness of Wokingham in a heartbeat. I mean I lived in the same street for 10 years and neighbours would not say hello to me or each other, I am glared at if I wear tracksuit bottoms and seen as like some god forsaken evil that has came out of the pits. I think its fair to say (and those living in Berks, Oxfords, London) will agree that there is something seriously lacking in these parts and that is something that know southerner would be able to understand IMHO.

Perhaps he's only 18, and struggling in the depths of terrible, terrible Berkshire. Makes you wonder what he's doing in the mean, nasty South.

I can almost hear the Hovis music in the background. I think this helmet's problem is his massive lack of personality and self esteem.

Could it be no-one speaking to him could be his problem not someone else's?

I have done the journey in reverse for the last fifteen years and there are plenty of people who would stab their own Gran for a stack of cash here too. The north is not some sort of socialist utopia where you can leave your front door open.

And your football team is crap too.

Self-admitting econmic migrant, upsetting the balance of Wonkingham, allegedly one of the most comfortable places to live in Britain. He could use the massive wage he eans to live there to keep it real and live in Whitley, or Portsmouth, Chatham, Plymouth, and all those other metropolis overflowing with gold that are also part of 'the south'.

Ill have a pound on 'he works at Green Park', despite the misty eyed reminiscences of factories and the like.
Not entirely sure what Reading has to do with Berkshire tbh - we're the black sheep of Berkshire.

And, almost certainly, all his angst stems from the Track Suit bottoms. What is this? The 80s? No wonder his Newsagent doesnt speak to him. Get a pair of jeans and his stock may rise.

Great community spirit......

I suppose that's why you'd want to move away, but please don't bring your culture to our town, go north about another 20 miles.

i hate it when people talk to me on the street. Yes the weather's good/bad, I don't care about your views on immigration, and no I don't want a big issue. I'd much rather do my fraternising with strangers on the interweb so i don't have to share the same oxygen. So he's right, but that's my 'Keeping Up Appearances' perogative as a struggling-to-try-and-be-middle-class southerner.
