......but there was that (sometimes sung in the SB) “a bigger bloomin’ biscuit” song that was spawned from a tv ad from that time.....although admittedly, “up the biscuitmen” hardly competed with the nattiness of “up the shots” (our once-upon-a-time bitter rivals)

Was there not a short-lived fanzine from circa '97 called Taking the Biscuit?

Which also leads me to remember The Whiff which I used to love. If the creators of that post on here then please give yourselves huge pats on the back.

Taking the Biscuit lasted several years, and was arguably the best fanzine the club had. The only competitor would be its forerunner, Elm Park Disease, although it didn't last as long. The others didn't come close.

The Elm Park Echoes tribute to Elm Park's final season was superb.

Taking the Biscuit was about in the late 80's to early 90's and was brilliant. A lot of it's about timing though and it greatly benefitted from being around in interesting times, not just for the club but for football in general.

Sutekh Elm. Park. Disease.

I recently found some copies of Elm Park Disease, plus a multitude of Taking the Biscuits, in a box among programmes I'd stuck up in the loft.

They must be worth at least 1p to an avid fanzine collector.

MOT seems to be open for read only.

General consensus seems to be they deserved to win but we made them work for it and Alioski is an embarrassment.

Those possible nicknames suggested in the 70s, The Blues or The R's, are genius. I honestly don't know how people come up with these things sometimes.

It`s fair to say the boys from the potteries are far from happy.

We should have won that easily but Afobe had a bit of a shocker first half

Clucas, Ince, Allen, Woods linked up really well

JM should have been pulled half time for Berahino He was very poor today

However, I am sorry Mr Rowett but you botlled it at the end with negative subs. We were comfortable and in this case the best form of defense is attack

Sadly Rowett's reputation for safety first football is showing up again

Reading were very poor = 2 points dropped

We clearly have the players, just not the right manager

When you've got 5 at the back how on earth do you manage to leave their winger completely free in the box in the 94th minute?

R

I really hoped we had turned a corner on Wednesday, shit way to follow it up really, can t say too much as I haven't seen the game but we shouldn't be trying to hang on against a piss poor team with the squad we have .

Although I totally agree with your first point,Rowett dropped a bollock today.Instead of going for the jugular we invited pressure solely due to his subs.
I'm not one of those who expects ex prem Stoke to wipe the floor with the teams in the Championship, but having watched the game,Reading were dreadful,no way should we have sat back.

Completely agree with you. We should have had Reading buried by half time. How Afobe did not put that header in early? He missed a second gilt edged chance before Jack was even called upon at all.

i was very pissed off sitting in the Reading end and watching a game which we were dominating, change in the last 15 minutes.

A point away is never poor but if Stoke have ambition to catch the top two, it is not good enough. Onto Ipswich and hoping we get three points and push us further up the league.

Hard to argue with any of that really.

I thought they were physical and tidy but nothing special. One of the better sides I've seen but then the Championship is full of rubbish this year. And with their players they should be pissing the league.

Yeah. Big, physical could play a bit.

But really nothing special, I was expecting an all out assault, but we gifted them the second half until the last 10 minutes. They weren’t even particularly quick.
