Think they played Arsenal in the League cup final a month later, and caused an upset by winning, but limited mitigation really. Were they already in the League Cup final when the Simod cup final was played? If not then they couldn't have known they would be going to Wembley again.

Norfolk Royal That Luton fan has got some front calling us plastics and citing the Simod Cup final.

My recollection of that is that we had about 35,000 fans there and they mustered about 10,000.

To be fair, taking 35,000 to the Full Members Cup final when your average attendance is about 9,000, is fairly plastic.

And yes, they'd known for a month that they were in the League Cup Final. In fact, they knew they were in the League Cup final before they played their Simod Cup semi final.

Getting 350000 Into even the old Wembley would have been quite a squash....

General consensus from the Jacks is that they probably deserved to win but Rafael played a blinder and at least we came to play football rather than killing the game.

Probably about fair. Even think its generous to say we came to play football.

I always think it's dumb when they say "deserved to win"
when the truth is a lot of huff n puff, not a single shot in the corner,
every shot giving Gabriel a chance, and one shot blazed over.

Poor shooting means you DON'T deserve to win. We did our job,
the keeper did his job well. We had two very good chances and
it took a professional foul to stop us having a 1-on-1.

They are the home team and had 6 shots on target (1 every 15 minutes)
to our 3 on target.

Yeah they look good, possession and all that, but take Ayew out and i suspect
they would struggle to make 6th.

And remind us, three very young defenders, one out of position and our
1st, 2nd, 3rd strikers not playing. A side in 2nd/3rd at home should be expecting 4-0

They were saying that most teams just park the bus and kick lumps out of them and that us, Norwich and Brentford were just about the only teams who haven't.

Hard fought point but had we lost, I wouldn't have felt robbed.

Fair enough. We did try to play football but did end up going defensive for a while before coming into it again at the end. Swift made a big difference to the balance of the game

We certainly didn’t kick lumps out of them

That’s a defeat I don’t feel so bad about

A tired Town team with a depleted squad against a very good Reading team. They look like a top 3 side, and we weren’t far behind

On to the next

Not too disappointed as it was always going to be a big ask to get even a point today. Held the lead for some times but by the sound of the game quality won out.

Reading deserved it, but the Ref was defo their 12th man today.

No complaints - Reading much better than us

They had more quality in the final third than us.
We looked very tired which leads to errors and lapses of concentration!
Fair play to reading going forwards they are good.

Got a lot of time for Huddersfield fans. Behaved with dignity after our playoff final defeat, didn't rub it in on the trains home.

Lots of smaller clubs around Leeds are like this. I'd say the same for Bradford. They see what being classless looks like on a regular basis in workplaces, social circles etc. so take it on themselves to be better.

Do agree about the Hudds' fans, probably comes from having a very similar history to us from about the 70s, most of their fans will have similar experiences to our own.

I’d echo what others have said, and especially genomes comments about the dignity shown to us after the play offs. Probably my favourite set of away fans in the division.

Although I do remember their mascot being a pcunt many years back standing behind the goal for a peno and waving his arms about trying to put us off.

Definitely agree about Hudds fans, both at Wembley and whenever I’ve been them a decent bunch.

Used to do a brilliant (and self depredating) on line photo comic report of their games 10+ years ago (maybe they still do?).

Think it might have been papes/seb (or someone like that) who used to post them up occasionally
