Tonight

by Snowball » 16 Mar 2015 08:50

Was just listening to BBC Radio Five Live

They said Bradford under Parky have beaten higher-league opposition
THIRTEEN times (or did they say 19?) (I'd gone into shock.)

Also Bradford hold the world record of nine consecutive wins in penalty shoot-outs.

The Bradford guy said they do so well because of fight, fire, passion, but then
added that he thought Reading had OUT-done them for spirit up at Bradford.

PS After the chat, the Bradford co-chairman and Nigel Howe, the interviewer said,
"May the best side win."

Quick as a flash the Bradford guy said, "Oh no, I want BRADFORD to win."

Bradford = Game Raisers

In reality they're cheating their fans. Play like that every week

I was listening to Heart and they had an update on the bloke who was going to hang around at Reading station waiting for the girl of his dreams who he met on a train home from London before losing her number, no idea what the update was as I pulled into a multistorey car park and lost signal..... prior to that, BBC Berks mentioned it being the biggest game in the clubs history, presumably since the last biggest game in our history which presumably either the last playoff final to reach the prem or the last game of the season when we were relegated on goal difference of 1 from the premiership.

With comments like that you clearly know nothing about Bradford or their fans!

If the game was to go to extra time, there's a good chance I will miss my train home.

Anyone know if a few buses back to the station will run after the 90mins regardless?

I would imagine all buses would just wait until the game has finished. I can't imagine they'll just leave with no supporters on it.

Haha I can just imagine that. Buses sticking to timetables and driving back to the station, back to Woodley, Bracknell, Newbury, all empty due to ET.

It was 13

(Still very impressive)

Since the 47-year-old became manager in August 2011, his side have knocked out 13 sides from higher divisions in the domestic cups, including Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal.
They also have a fearsome record in penalty shoot-outs, winning an English record of nine in a row - six under Parkinson.
Bradford, who were beaten 5-0 in the 2013 League Cup final by Swansea, are aiming to reach the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time since they went on to win the competition in 1911. (BBC)

We haven't lost any FA Cup games since Steve Clarke took over. So Parky can go fcuk himself.

So if it goes to penalties we should send on the under18's from last season?

Reading Buses website states that they will hang around until the game is over, even if it goes to penalties.

However, As with previous cup games LOL at uneducated fans who start to leave at the final whistle before turning back when someone shouts "it's extra time/penalties you muppet" ...... or maybe that only happens in the West Lower

If the motorway appears to be running well then that has to be the best option.

And why would he ?
I wouldn't expect you to know anything much about us.

But he could have a point. If you can consistently beat teams in a higher division why do you struggle against teams in your own division?
Cup runs are great in all respects but kicking around the lower leagues forever is a bit dumb if you think your team is better than that.
