ladida_gunner_graham Is he the new Leigertwood? Composed, authoritative and controlling for half a dozen games or so, then both of them totally failed to perform. Really, really disappointed in Norwood, I thought we'd unearthed a gem there......

Wow, and people wonder why I dig out stats.
Leigertwood transformed the team, and for a heck of a lot more than six games

Ian Royal Leigertwood's only failing was that McDermott thought he could hack it in the PL.

An obsession with stats can mean you miss the actual point. It's not the number of games - 6, 10, 19, not the issue. The point is that they both looked like they were going to be the marshalling force in midfield, like Sidwell had been for instance, but both failed to maintain it. Leigertwood was poor for a lot longer than he was good. Almost from the time he signed his permanent deal. Similarly, Norwood looked absolute class, but has faded badly.
