Perhaps we owe poor old Anton an apology?

Ferdinand, at least, was a sensible selection, because he hadn't been available for selection all season (though I maintain he wasn't actually a bad signing). I have no idea what Cox, Norwood and Kelly are doing on this list, although Cox is justifying it this season...

Remove those three and replace them with Blackman, Akpan, and Travner.

Let's be honest, the real shortlist is:

Guthrie - offered flashes of brilliance but mountains of attitude and a divisive character.

Pog - I like him but considering he's going to cost the club something in the region of £12m over 4 years absolutely not justified the outlay

Guthrie - The final coup-de-grace by Anton as he oxf*rd off out the back door, leaving this unfit, bad attitude, high maintenance, steaming turd of a signing on the doorstep in the process.

So bad you named him twice?

Pogrebnyak is definitely the worst when you take everything into account

Drenthe probably the second worst closely followed by Guthrie

Drenthe and Guthrie were cheaper than Akpan and Blackman (Drenthe's wages for his single season were probably less than Blackman's transfer fee, let alone three years of wages) and offered significantly more on the pitch. Same goes for Pogrebnyak, free signing who has been a guaranteed starter for most of the last 3 years as opposed to Blackman who has rarely even played in the position we signed him for.

Agree that both Akpan and Blackman were poor signings, I have said my views on them elsewhere on here, (particularly Blackman) and can't be bothered to say it again but your wrong we have definitely spent more on Pog overall than anyone else, ever.

Big signing on fee and wages far higher that anyone else at the club for 4 years. Pog was also dropped by McD in the Prem season and dropped by Adkins near the start of last season. Also certainly will not be a guaranteed starter when he returns from injury, and rightly so.

Last one was meant to be Drenthe.

Just checked out Drenthe to see what's happened to him - his Turkish team got relegated and he seems to have moved to a Cypriot team ....

Ian Royal Pogrebnyak. Cost a mint and we were stuck with him for four oxf*rd years.

Ferdinand at least shouldn't have cost too much.

Drenthe was an utter waster on too much money, but we got shot of him reasonably quickly at least.

Knight, Travner and Yukubu run Ferdinand close for most pointless signings of recent years.

Only just pipped by Cedric Baseya and Brett Williams, but at least they only cost us a couple of mars bars.

Handsome Man Drenthe is probably our worst player of all time

Wrong, Brian Howard is our worst player of all time.

Pav is one of our better signings over the last few years.

Cant have a go at someone for signing a lucrative long term contract.... what a bastard!
