by Squelchy2507 » 18 Sep 2015 14:01

If anyone is thinking of going to the U21 game at Stamford Bridge next Friday evening, you will need to get a ticket in advance - no pay on the night.

Tickets for this fixture will go on general sale at 2pm on Thursday 17th September and will remain on sale, subject to availability, up until 12pm on Thursday 24th September.

Chelsea will not be selling any tickets on the day of this fixture at Stamford Bridge, which is why we are selling tickets in advance for this Under-21 fixture. Chelsea will also not accept any collections.

Prices:
Shed Lower
Adults: £5
65 & Over: £3
19 & Under: £3

Chelsea aren't really very keen on supporters attending are they. Fair enough I guess, but then why play it at the Bridge?

I believe clubs must play a proportion of their U21 games at their main home venue.
I would guess the ticketing arrangements are purely about saving money. Minimal staff needed, no ticket office, no cash handling. Seems a bit petty for a club who aren't short of a few quid.
Fair play to Reading for the free entry policy for U21 games at the Mad Stad.

From the premier league website

•Clubs are only allowed to field three outfield players over the age of 21, plus the goalkeeper is also permitted to be over 21.
•Each club must host at least three league matches at their main stadium during the course of the season, which helps to enhance the matchday experience for the young players and fans.

•Member clubs' training grounds or Academy venues will be permitted for the staging of up to three home matches over the course of the league season.
