Well spotted. I look forward to the responses but I have to agree that looked like a corner being taken and it certainly looked like a goal.

Presumably it because it's not direct from a corner i.e. ball straight in net or put in net without opponent touching the ball (excl. own goals) and instead it's from a resulting melee following a failed clearance.

That counts as from a corner for me. The ball didn't leave the area.

That should count as from a corner than me. They don't properly clear the corner and so it directly leads to the goal.

I'd count Doyle's header against Leicester in 06 as being from a corner even though it was flicked on first. If a keeper made a save from a header and the rebound was smashed in then I'd count that even though an opponent has touched the ball. Equally if a corner was worked short and say played back to the edge of the box and smashed in I'd count that too.

I'd say it should only end when the ball is properly cleared and a new phase of play starts. That might normally be when the ball leaves the penalty area.
