There's a FB page called something like Brothers in Blue that is all about a link between our fans and Bochum. It has pics of RFC flags and fans in RFC shirts at Bochum games.
Anyone know anything ?

I just checked and they are called Bochum 1848.

1848 :o

Duisburg would have been a more natural fit as they wear our colours

Not been a football club since then though. Typical continental multi sports club.

Player exchanges, Christmas cards, renaming of a row of seats in the Lower West as 'the Bochum Row'.......

And, of course, for the last couple of seasons we've been close to the Bochum of the Championship.

Plus there's usually some kind of Bochum representation in an advisory fashion at STAR meetings. and the youth teams have trained together on a number of occasions.

Can't be a real fan if you don't know and see the Bochum link. 2 or 3 times a season there are 2 coaches laid on by STAR for the Bochum fans who have come over. We've had 2 annual trips to Bochum games for Royals fans and we took 42 to the last one. A lovely ground, a great weekend and the first time I ever saw Green drink a cocktail!

Bochum are actually a slight cut above us. They have twice qualified for the old UEFA Cup tournament.

You obviously don't go drinking with Green very often.

In 2006 i was in Cologne to watch England v Sweden at the world cup, i was wearing the Kyocera shirt from the 05-06 season, and a Duisburg fan walked straight up to me and insisted on a photo because we played in hoops and so did they.

It was mental how happy he was about it.

I read somewhere they have a particularly nasty crew called something like "Das Bochum Skorpians," in an unwanted homage to our own top boys.
