MATCHWATCH : Plymouth Argyle (h) sponsored by 3-0 down, 4-3 up

by Sutekh » 09 Aug 2016 15:09

Stephen Quinn and Dominic Samuel are out with knee injuries.

No idea at this point whether Jaap will make a raft of changes or just put out what he thinks is his best 11

Plymouth manager Derek Adams may make a number of changes to the side that were defeated by Luton at the weekend.

Vincent Dorel could be selected over captain Luke McCormick, but David Ijaha and Jake Jervis should start.

Coverage live on BBC Radio Berkshire 104.1/104.4 FM (not sure if the League Cup gets transmitted on internet)

Ref is Simon Hooper who last looked after us in the 2-2 home draw with Fulham last season and also the 1-0 loss at Wolves on Boxing Day.
He also took charge of our 4-1 stuffing at Home Park back in 2009 when Brian took over the first time.

Jaakkola, Watson, Gunter(c), Cooper, Van den Berg, Evans, Williams, Swift, Beerens, Harriott, Kermie
Bond, Rakels, Meite, Jules, Tanner, Gravenberch, Kelly

So McCleary, Rakels, Al-Habsi and McShane rested. Obita not risked. Big chance for Watson. In theory a strong midfield - although it's still difficult to tell at this stage. Hope to see at least two of Meite, Kelly and Tanner get run outs.

Anyone else not receiving the match on Reading Player? The shambolic service that we have been given this season should get someone the sack!

No, but BBCRB hasn't turned off yet on the beeb website.

They'd sorted out the problem within a couple of minutes of kick off on Sat. I don't mind too much as long as I get most of the games I want to listen to and access to the 10 min highlights.

Balls, someone must be checking HobNob, they've turned it off. But Player is now working

Dellor suggesting it's Swift and Kermorgant upfront - 4-4-2?

I'm assuming that's Dellor just talking out of his normal orifice.

The muppet Dellor didn't realise the Simod Cup wasn't the League Cup until Gooding pointed it out, good job.

van den Berg makes it 1-0!

Well hopefully that will be the sign of how the game is going to go.

So that's 2 games, 2 goals from free kicks.

What a difference not relying on Norwood for set pieces does.

Noticed that. How can you call yourself a Reading fan and not know what the Simod Cup is?

Schoolboy sniggers everytime commentary mentions Goodwillie. Hopefully he won't score. Or penetrate the box.

What?

I worded it poorly but basically our set pieces last season were trash, now in 2 Norwoodless games we've scored from 2 free kicks.

Beerens makes it 2-0, could be a pasting tonight.

Oh right! But Swifts goal was from a corner?

That it was, I definitely worded it poorly in that case.
