Charles Watts to Arsenal

by Barcelona Blue » 01 Jan 2017 18:01

I read this this morning that Charles Watts is leaving after 3 and a half years to start reporting for Arsenal, just to say I thought he did a really good job nd is a top pro...

Saddens me to say it but he was too good for that rag really.

Best of luck to him.

Yes he has been excellent and a big future awaits him I suspect - streets above a lot of the writers you read in the nationals

Good luck to him

Agreed - big loss to the Reading FC fan base. Had RFC interests at heart, was relatively open and brought a lot new persona to local journalism.

Put to shame the reporter rat other wise known as Johnny Fordham. Now reporting for himself on meaningless rugby matches in a meaningless paper.

Good luck Charles, you will be missed.

Early days for Jonathon Low but catching up with his commentary and tweets it appeared very amateurish. Am I right in saying he is a big Portsmouth fan?

I sense he will be just a stand in unless GetReading are really on the wind down.

Big shoes to fill.

Although a gooner he genuinely came across as a Reading fan in all forms of his reporting and updates. The best we've had by a long way.

I begrudgingly unfollowed Charles last night. I don't fancy having my feed full of Arsenal match updates and it was a bit weird seeing him report on someone else.

Shame, top reporter.

Charlie Watts was a big Arsenal fan, so I can't see what difference Jonathon Low being a big Portsmouth fan makes, other than the fact he might jump ship if the Pompey Post or whatever it's called make an offer.

Everyone knew he was an Arsenal fan, he made no secret of the fact, however, he genuinely did seem to get excited like a fan when Reading scored.
