Stranded
Simmops This is my new favourite ever football stat. Just proves his bonkers the championship is

Barnsley were in the bottom 3 for every single minute from 15th September until the 91st minute of the last game of the season and stayed up. Charlton were in it for less then a week and went down.

Pedant Alert

Not actually true. Barnsley were still in the relegation zone at the final whistle as Wigan's point deduction was only applied after all games had finished.

And they may still be if Wigan’s appeal is successful.

The comments are glorious.

LOL

What a rediculous thing to do! And the comments

Wasn’t Jasper Carrott a director there at some point? Perhaps the current board took one of his quips at face value.

Ridiculous. Imagine if it was Olise. Maybe appropriate if he died, or was in a life-changing accident, or developed a career-ending illness. Leaving the club after thirty senior matches? Lol.

Is Loader’s number being retired?

Danny Graham released by Blackburn. Wouldn't say no if we shift Puscas and Baldock, he wouldn't be bad back up for Joao.

What a man, what a manager. If only we could have got him in.

He did what one manager every year achieves in the championship, winning the league.

Well done to him

Brain Traysers I'm actually in the small minority who quite like that. But recently into my 30s maybe I'm just getting soppy in my old age...

He's been touted as a superstar for years, and rejected moves away to all the big UK teams to stay at his hometown club that hes been with since he was 7. He's played for them all the way from u8s to first team star, captaining England at u15, u16 and u17 - he could have moved away and cashed in on a number of occasions.

The Dortmund move is perfect - he's following the path of many young players who have moved there and been given an ideal environment to develop, away from the UK press who love to over-hype and then turn on a wonderkid. With finances tight, I wonder if it was an offer Birmingham couldn't refuse. If/when he goes on to be a superstar, Birmingham will always have him as "one of their own".

He is literally the player every fan hopes their club will develop. A hometown player who sticks with them when bigger clubs come calling, up until they outgrow the nest completely. How many of our players would be in tears over a move to one of Europe's elite (with wages jumping from £145 a week to c. £50k)?

Sure, he only played one full season, but he represents so much more than that.

Fair points well made,

I still think removing the squad number in honour a little OTT

genome Remember Charlton singing about going up in August?

Remember Charlton fans getting upset when several of us suggested they were getting carried away?

I certainly remember making the point about Bolton being 3rd at that point of the season as well.

Pretty uncanny actually.

I also remember getting shot down for saying they were shit by some on here too. *cough* Ian *cough*.

There were others too though tbf

Where's the money going again?

One of the worst refereeing decisions you'll ever see in the Swansea vs Brentford game

Which decision you referring to - the penalty?

The red card

Even if it’s overturned on appeal, which it will be, it’s cost Brentford 30 minutes a man light.
Keith Stroud is just appalling

Studs up tackle. Looked a red to me. Makes no odds if he touched it

Be amazed if it gets overturned

The Brewster yellow card on the other hand....

It was barely even a foul!

You'd see 5 players getting sent off every game if that was a red

He was no way in control, should have been a yellow though. It won’t be overturned.

Brentford didn’t look very good tonight anyway; they’ve now given Swansea a real chance of shithousing the playoffs. Again.

Wasn't sure about the red at first but on second view it was the right decision.
Brentford look shot though......Swansea were all over them. Their widemen worked hard tonight and put some good balls in. Cracking goal as well. They really have the wind in their sales.
