paultheroyal It is reading like terrible news for Derby - often these things are blown up to made worse than it is, but they could really go, couldnt they?
If they don't have funds to survive the season, what else can the EFL do? At the start of this, I presumed that someone would be willing to pick them up on the cheap and keep them going, but maybe it's just too much of a mess.

Ultimately, what are you buying? A club that doesn't have that many sellable assets and has debt that is just building up all of the time. Players are in short supply and a lot are leaving for next to nothing, their wages on some players would still be very high, even for Championship standards and they don't own their ground either. It's a sorry state of affairs.

genome Surely the defence is just "well, you could've won a couple more matches over the course of a 46 game season lads"

Suspect that won’t go down to well unfortunately for Derby

Ego and status symbol though isn’t it. Buying a name and a fanbase. Not gonna to earn any money off it

Yeah, we cheated and fraudulently covered it up but you should have just been better isn't what I consider a winning defence.

Agreed. But what about Derby?

(yes, I know Dai isn't going to sell up anytime soon ... hopefully)

Derby will survive. The Govt will apply pressure on the EFL who in turn will press Middlesbrough and Wycombe to accept much reduced compensation packages which will see the takeover completed. We can only hope it’s not sorted out before the end of the transfer window

The govt don`t get involved in sports matters, i would suggest they have one or two more pressing situations to deal with at the moment.

Tory MP’s are getting involved and will apply pressure on the Sports Minister. You wait and see. Trust uncle Zip.

Just way too good for this division - should never have gone down

Still think Brum are one of the teams who may yet get dragged into the mix so happy to see them get a battering

It would seem the Birmingham fans are not happy with their Chinese owners with 8 managers since 2014, remind you of anyone?

18 goals in less than 3 games since their extended Xmas break. Insane.

Fulham dropping the ball, they'll only score 4 in their next game.
