Stranded
Very conceivable that the bottom 4 all finish on 43 pts. If they do Derby will be gone unless Rotherham get tanked in one of their last 2 games.

I feel sorry for Wycombe. In the end they put up a good fight (and we tried to help)

I'd like to see Derby down, ideally with Wednesday, which means Rotherham
have to win one of their last two, the easiest (presumably) being at Luton

I have a horrible sinking feeling that Derby will undeservedly escape

I remember in 17/18 thinking that our survival was utterly undeserved and purely down to the incompetence of others, but I think Derby are even worse and may still survive!

and Sod's Law, the steal sixth off us next season

Ascotexgunner I know Wednesday are gone, but I wonder if they might have one or two bargains that would be useful as backup.
Barry Bannon at 31 looks a cheap option....and capable of playing at a better level.

They aren`t gone yet. but agree, i would take Bannon on a heartbeat.

Not for me.

Bannon is a good player, but is EXACTLY the sort of signing we should avoid.

Performances declining
At the end of his career
From a team used to losing
In an area we have good first choice players
Big wage earner

We should be looking at young improving players like Laurent, or experienced steady Eddie's who won't break the bank like Morrison imo.

I`m calling a Bournemouth vs Brentford play-off final now, result too close to call but would like the bees to edge it, they deserve a crack at the big time.

Nothing like an out-of-left-field prediction :-)

3 Brentford 84 (guaranteed 3rd)
4 Swansea +19 80 - play Watford
5 Bournemouth +29 77 - play Stoke
6 Barnsley +8 77 - play Norwich

Quite surprised to see Swansea in 4th

Given the above, do we expect the semi finals to be Brentford v Barnsley and Bournemouth v Swansea?

Probably worth keeping an eye on who will be competing with us next season and may have a PO hangover. But beyond that, not really.

What was a great season has turned into a good season, it will only be a great season again if Sheffield Wednesday or Rotherham send Derby County down.

I'd like Brentford to go up. They play good football and a second consecutive third placed finish (and playoffs comfortably) feels to me like they've served their 'apprenticeship' in this division. If they don't go up, they'll lose a third consecutive top scorer (Maupay, Watkins, Toney) to the Premier League.

As mentioned before, I'd happily get rid of a team that is most likely to be up the right end again next season and for me that is Brentford.

Wonder if Brentford don't go up, they'll end up struggling next year. Especially, like you said, when they eventually lose Toney to a Prem team.

To be fair, this is said almost every season and each year, they find someone else to fill the void left behind. You may be right, but no doubt in the event of Toney leaving, they’d have spent the last 4/5 months looking for a replacement

Whilst Brentford’s model is very admirable, wouldn’t be against them going up just so we don’t have to hear Sky continuously going on about it!

Think Swansea will struggle if (when) they don't go up. They've been pretty shit for the second half of the season, and will lose Ayew. Brentford will somehow find an adequate replacement for Toney and be there or there abouts again. Bournemouth you'd think would lose a few more of their star players, and might find next season a bit tougher. Also can't see Barnsley having another season like this. So in conclusion, I want Brentford go up.

Yeah, but if Brentford stay down, we can buy Toney and a couple others and...
