100% in. But cant see the Chinese giving him any more money for a decent striker due to the amount
spent already. Too be honest I don't think Stam ever thought he needed an out and out striker so to get
one in Jan when Yann is back is going to be difficult.

he should stay but learn and learn very quickly.

The system itself is actually ok, and when used properly can be very effective. However! what is currently happening is that we are having lovely possession at the back (great) but when we go to move it forward there is NO MOVEMENT from the midfield or the front 3.

Take for example Gunter gets moaned at a lot (justifiably sometimes). I was watching the game on Saturday Gunter gets the ball moves slighty up the wing, then has to play it back, (everyone groans and shouts get it forward, moan moan etc). The fault here though doesn't actually lie with Gunter it is the players in front being too static not moving across the to the wing to receive a pass, i counted this happening around 10 times and it happens all over the pitch too slow not enough movement and not enough flow. Stam needs to look at this and get the players to be more fluid and mobile this system works if the players pass and move quickly, i think we manage this about 5mins out of 90 currently. if this doesn't change neither will the results or the "i would rather watch paint dry entertainment value"

Players coming back in will help of course but not if they play the same way.

I think the most frustrating this is you can see how good we can be. Even that last 10 against Hull, we were actually pretty excellent and could have scored a couple - creating chances, running into space, good shape etc

last night, though didn't watch - we obviously had a good chance when we had to attack through McShane, and should have had a pen

Its almost like we then choose to go back into no movement, aimless passing.

Totally agree, we are capable of doing it but we don't, or if we do it is for barely a few minutes a game. I am not saying we can sustain it all the time but we should be putting high intensity bursts a lot more often.

Problem is, even for us in the 'Stay' camp it's getting harder and harder to continue to back Stam.

Agreed.

I think it hasn't helped Stam's cause that we had to put up with aimless football during the glorious reigns of Adkins and Clarke, so the enthusiasm for "possession" football is somewhat diminshed. Combine that with his comments on Saturday that haven't endeared him to the fans and it's going to be difficult for him unless he starts winning quick.

the comments he makes do make a difference.

If he had come out and said 'yeah we haven't played well, we're working hard on it, we accept we need to defend better, attack faster and create more chances. We're confident we'll improve'

I suspect it'd be more like 80/20

An unknown quantity that is being overlooked here is the owners.

We have no idea if they are the patient type or the trigger happy type. It will be interesting to see how they react if this continues, or if they make a statement of sorts.

I can see the attendance being very poor on Saturday, and that's not going to do Stam any favours.

Does anyone know if Ron Gourlay has any say in this?

Whether you like it or not, people need to watch half decent football and if not, vaguely successful football. Saying we're playing well and if you don't like it, fcuk off, is misguided at best.

If I were the owners, having shelled out £10M, I'd be reminding him of his obligations as an employee of RFC.

The replies are almost universally 'In' but with caveats.

Can any of the 'Out' expand on their thoughts or are people voting out and then saying to give him a few games? :|
