I actually said to my two lads last night that I'd be very surprised if he wasn't asked to consider a deal extension at some point this year. He's arguably playing the best football of his career and is not a player that is any way reliant on pace (somebody else used Sheringham as an example). We'd be hard pushed to sign a better striker at the need of the season so this is good news for sure

Delighted with this news. He adds so much, all over the pitch. Let's hope he can keep up his (not unimpressive at 35) fitness levels and remain injury free.

He and the club must be pleased with his condition post-injury, so this is a great sign. I was sceptical about how much use he'd be coming back from injury, but he obviously believes he can get on with it, and if the club concurs who am I to disagree?

thought this may happen - he did leave a big caveat in his retirement statement

Great news - looks in great nick after a nasty injury. Now just need him to stay fit at the very least till January

not surprising given he's
missed a lot of this season
through injury.

YAY! Striking problems solved. No need to panic any more

Yann will now regain his mojo and bag another 20 or so this season and Reading will make the PO final again (only to lose in another manner we've not experienced yet of course).

He was arguably the best forward in the division last year. I think statistically on whoscored he was.

No doubting this is great news, and would rather this than spunking a ton of money on someone who we don't really want (or Tomer Hemed)

Hopefully he will be encouraged to spend some time coaching the younger strikers, a superb example for them to follow.

The difference being Yann agreed a deal with the club once he was fit, rather than triggering an extension when it was obvious his career was already over.

Why? we have Yann Bod with Smith as back up and Mendes when he gets fit. that's the way the club will be looking anyway.
