Royals and Racers
Orion1871 Who does all the other jobs she does when she's sacked as manager?

Anyone i would think- recruitment has hardly been a raging success. Some of the team on Sunday just kept on giving the ball to the opposition. One of our best players Faye Bryson can`t even get a start.

So no idea then?

If they are going to change things on the women's side then the club need to put together a proper plan to change the structure. So it either doesn't rely on one person, or they get the right person in who is capable of doing the multiple jobs Chambers does.

Not sure that's an easy task. Especially when the Sporting Director of the Club freely admits that he hasn't been able to give the women as much attention as he would like because of first team issues.

I think the Sporting director said that several months ago. You only have to look at Brighton Women`s team to see how Hope Powell had to go and since then results have picked up- we could do worse and get her in

What concerns me is the good first team players that for some reason we released and who are now featuring in more successful teams in WSL1. Carter, Harding, Bartrip, Pacheco, Allen (playing until injured), Furness. I'm not sure those who remained and took their places were necessarily as good, let alone improvements.

Not to much rest for the Royals as they play next Championship side Southampton FC on Sunday at St Mary`s Southampton in a Conti cup group E match KO 2pm.

Kelly Chambers is definitely a 'glass half-full' person. She says last night's game could prove to be a crucial point won. Many others might say it was more a case of two crucial points lost, particularly as it was at home against one of the weakest teams in WSL1.

Saints 0 Reading 1 4mins Troelsgaard
0-2 37 mins Wade
H-T 0-2
0-3 60 mins Vanhaevermaet
crowd 4258
F-T 0-3
The Group E standings after today are
1 Tottenham P 2 points 6
2 Reading P 2 points 3
3 Coventry P 2 points 3
4 Southampton P 2 points 0

The 5 group winners plus seeded Chelsea and Arsenal take part in the QF`s- they are joined by the highest 2nd place across the 5 groups- Even if Reading beat Coventry away in their final match on Friday December 16th there is little chance of them qualifying as because 2 of the groups being 5 team groups the best runner up will be decided by points won divided by matches played and 6/3 = 2 won`t be good enough to beat group B.

….and the perennial upturn in results continues.

Keep it ticking over ladies, the only non-premier (sponsored) team in the top flight.

I reckon one more win and avoid defeat in the return game with Leicester and we are safe.
