It is reported that the FA have signed a new WSL broadcasting deal for the 2021/22 season. SKY have replaced BT and will have first choice of matches with the BBC also showing live matches on their main network channels, as against the red button currently. This will be the 1st time that the WSL has attracted a rights fee- reported to be a multi million pound figure.

Royals and Racers The Royals are at home to Tottenham in a WSL fixture this Sunday (14th) KO 12.30pm. Match is at the Madejski stadium and is live on the FA player.

Just a reminder about the early start today which is due to there not being a clash with the Conti cup final at 2.30pm(BT Sport)

0-0 Another dreadful performance. Loads of sloppy play. Some abysmal defending, which could and probably should have cost us several goals. Some equally poor attacking, with great goal-scoring situations created but then squandered.

Our strikers fire more blanks than the starters pistol at The Olympics!

Fishlock our best player by far and very unlucky to be denied by the post after a great run into the area. Shame we lose her back to the US shortly.

But, if I saw it correctly, both involved in a dreadful piece of play which very nearly cost us a goal. And although she did produce a couple of good saves, Grace also got lucky on another occasion too after making a mistake (and I'm a fully paid up member of the GKU!).

From Despair To Where? The average wage in the WSL is now apparently £25,000 a year.

Reading have 22 players which would place the wage bill somewhere in the region of half a million.

However, I suspect Reading's average wage is below the league average, especially when you consider that Sam Kerr reportedly earns £20,000 a week at Chelsea and there are numerous players at Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Spurs who earn 3+ times the league average.

I just came across a tweet from Adam Millington regarding Reading FC Women's accounts. Apparently they lost just under £1.2M in 2019/20, an improvement over the previous year. They now owe £4.56M but shareholders have declared that they have no intention of reclaiming that unless they are able to do so without putting the team's future at risk.

Another lack lustre performance against a team below us in the table. Change is needed at the top.

Some more details have emerged. The contract runs until the summer of 2024. SKY Sports will show up to 44 matches per season live and the BBC will show 22 with a minimum of 18 shown on BBC 1 or 2. Matches not shown live on SKY or BBC will be available to watch on the FA player. SKY will show 2 matches and the BBC 1 every weekend with likely time slots being Friday at 6.30pm Saturday 11.30 am and Sunday 12.30 pm and 6.30pm

Casey Stoney must think Man Utd are the only decent team in the WSL https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56531487

They didn't even exist 3 years ago. She should be grateful they got parachuted into WSL2 and are not playing Fylde or Brighouse Town this weekend.

FT 1-0 played well but outdone by a piece of individual skill.

IMO poor substitutions cost us that game. Harries should've come on up front, rather than Carter who is a shadow of her former self. And taking off Rachel Rowe was ludicrous - she was one of the main reasons we'd managed to keep City at bay. She was taken off and soon after we conceded.

Jess Fishlocks final game today before heading back to the states, and Molly Bartrip suspended for 5 bookings this season.
