Jackson Corner
AthleticoSpizz Yeah true and very very sad.

Just look at how quick Man U ladies have progressed in the last couple of seasons.

We are the only non PL backed club in the division and we know where this is all going.

Not an expert on ladies football but from what I gather the players bought in this season should be doing better. They gave Arsenal a really good game last week. Today they are all over the shop. I know someone who’s daughter started at Reading and is now at Spurs, and she said the standard of coaching was different class, and Chambers was a soft touch and training was the same every day.

That's interesting as our daughter joined them from Watford (admittedly a while back) and the coaching back then was very good. Also, it was only a couple of years ago that the team had the most creative and productive dead ball routines in the WSL.

I think the coaching team seem to have lost their way a bit but, as the commentator today rightly pointed out, whilst the Reading squad are probably no weaker and are possibly stronger than last season, the quality of the additions elsewhere in the WSL have been in a different league.

It should also be noted that we have lost by far our best and biggest star to long-term injury - World Cup winner Deanne Rose.

3-2 courtesy of a somewhat mishit penalty from Troelsgaard.

KC’s head was getting called-for this time last season iirc…she turned it around a bit.

Not suggesting that she has much longevity left here, but, the evidence is there to be seen in the leagues other participants….money talks in football….it has recently and obviously become evident in the ladies game.

Who would replace her that could change our fortunes?

You are correct, she did turn it around a bit but we then went on that dreadful 14 game WSL winless streak on 6th February.

As for replacements, there are plenty of decent coaches in the game who would probably jump at the opportunity (it's still a good club with a great set-up).

I truly hope not but the time might come when we just need the new manager bounce.

4 matches in to a 22 match season you wouldn`t expect necessarily a " must win " match but Sunday`s match at the SCL stadium i believe is in that category. The Royals pointless after 4 matches play Leicester (KO 2pm) who are pointless after having played a game more. There is no doubt that Kelly Chambers and the team are under extreme pressure to get a result. Match is live on the FA player.

Given how the league is now if we lose Sunday I'd say we are as good as down

IMO it would be a terrible thing. No way would we come back as other clubs developing and improving far more than we are. Need to stay up, hope the men’s side deliver and more can then be invested in developing the women’s side to enable us to compete at the top level.
