Pretty good so far from Reading.

The amount of times we have been whiffing in the 18 yard box in the last few games is getting annoying.

Does anybody else groan audibly every time we take a shot from distance when dominating possession in the final third? Or whenever Liam Kelly tries a long pass into the box straight at the GK? Or whenever we have a corner...

I'm obviously a bit late on the uptake but I think I have finally cracked our problem. Our ENTIRE game plan is to keep possession and see what happens. The reason after every game Whoscored lists "were good at creating chances from individual skill" in our pros column is because that is literally our entire attacking game plan: Keep the ball and a goal will come..

Yes we have some very creative players and yes we are very well drilled in keeping possession under pressure but the reason it rarely leads from dominating on the ball to dominating on the score sheet is we rely on luck too much.

- We are very poorly drilled on set pieces.
- We seemingly put no training effort into crossing
- We have a HUGE issue with players having the freedom to take a shot whenever they feel like it

I don't think we are going to improve as a team until we stop relying on the skill of our players and start relying on proper attacking movement. I swear the reason we are so frustrating to watch is because the players have no idea what they are supposed to do in the final third! Sure they know they have to try and score but that seems to be it. After every cross our midfielders are either too deep or in the box failing to win a header so we rarely win the second ball.

I think our coaches need to take a serious look at our lack of tactical awareness in the opposition half.

Back to the standard not very good give the ball away tosh in the second half

Two wayward shots in the whole game for Reading despite plenty of effort

Really hacked off that Aluko is always in the middle and not on the wing where he’s best

Bod on for the Cormorant

And it’s too cold

Loving the BBC match stats.
13 shots, 1 on target.
7 corners.
57% possession.

oxf*rd love child gets on

Stam is clearly on a back-hander from love child's agent based on the number of minutes live child gets on the pitch.

Woooo 3rd league clean sheet this season - oh, and 1 shot on target.

Awful. Just awful.

Another 2 points dropped against a shocking Wednesday side.

iFollow is one of the worst purchases I've ever made.

I just can't get over the lack of urgency in stoppage time. That last play of the game... two players leave the throw in so that Bacuna can set up a long throw, everyone goes forward, Bacuna continues to take his time, then throws it short. Immediate full time whistle.

Easily the most frustrating game I've seen all season.

Just coming back. Not a great display, definite regression from forest and even Wolves. Missed a few good chances but couldn’t really get going second half

Wednesday were a joyless bunch of cloggers+Barry bannan who is a decent player. Not sure How coming for a 0-0 really helps their cause, esp considering the cost of their squad

Barrow our best player by a long way. Bacuna did pretty well. Defence looked reasonable and didn’t drop a bollock for once. Kelly was poor, Yann and Edwards didn’t do too much and Aluko started knocking around CM again for some reason

Maybe we have all become a little "entitled" following all the success we have had since the turn of the Millenium, (relative to our previous 130-odd years).

Still, aren't the "customers" allowed to express their opinions at the lack of entertained provided?

Not being arsy to your post, just trying to be objective.

Couldn't agree more.

Not a great performance, but clean sheet having rarely looked threatened. Lost 1 in 5 now and that was against the league leaders. Swung some dangerous balls in, no injuries, Barrow missed a good chance to win it.

If we'd drawn with Forest and Derby and won against Bolton and Weds instead people would be well happy with exactly the same points from the last 5.

The problem continues to be the lack of options on for the pass and the tempo. We play in two arcs with no link between. The defensive line halfway in our half, and the attacking line halfway in their half. Too many times there's 30 yards of space in the middle noone is making the effort to use.

There’s still not enough movement up front and the strikers still look rusty as you’d expect. Thought Dadi showed more than Yann actually, and looking forward to him being fully fit

I think Barrow is a great player. A real bargain. Bacuna is similar in many ways - always trying to make things happen, and managed to basically play as a winger second half whilst carrying their left mid (Reach?) in his pocket

TBH really disappointed with Kelly. He is so safe this year. Everything is slow and backwards. I’m not sure what he is bringing to the side. Clement looked much more lively
