Snowflake Royal muirinho Nameless Always surprised that clubs don’t have clauses in player contracts requiring their wives to only give birth out of season, No excuse for missing games when all it needs is either a bit of planning or reliable contraception.
Very much doubt any player would agree to this being written into their contract! And even if it was, how on earth could it be enforceable? What happens if contraception fails? Ask the player's wife, who isn't even employed by the club, to abort her child? Just for the sake of a few days paternity leave....
That's not even considering possible religious objections.

It’s impacted us TWICE this season
It’s the thin end of the wedge. Presumably we’ll find players missing midweek games because it’s parents evening or deciding to take the kids to EuroDisney in October half term and missing 3 games.
It’s just something that should be addressed....
