Sutekh Yiadom booked.

Mannone injured in training yesterday. Believed a minor knock.
Meyler has a minor knee problem and should be back in contention next week.
Popa has an injured ankle from a week or so ago. He just rolled it so shouldn’t be out too long (not that he ever plays anyway)
Blackett was missing, presumed injured or ill, at the Preston game
Barrow believed to have missed Preston due to wife in labour.

So all in all not a bad international break for the club

Of the “long term” injuries

Edwards has an MCL problem and is probably a few weeks away from rejoining training
McCleary is back in training and getting game time with the U21/3s
Harriott too is back in training and getting game time with the U21/3s
Obita is back from the US and expected to be able to return to training in October

Blackett has a hammy

Meite booked again last night - and Gunter too

Blackett is still injured and will not make the Hull game so it'll be another round of Gunter and Yiadom as full backs as it appears Richards is no longer on the manager's radar. Funny thing was Gunter was looking better last season at left back than he was as a right back so why not revert to Gunter at left back and Yiadom on the right for Saturday. Least then there'd be some form of defensive threat on Reading's right side.

Popa is out for 8 weeks but that won't make any difference as he never gets to play anyway.

McShane has also picked up a minor knock in training

Is Callum Harriot right up there with one of our most injury prone players ever? thought he was going to kick on this season after his injury nightmare last year. think he played minutes in pre-season, now gone again, waste of fcuking space.

Graham Hurty springs to mind.
We never saw him after he signed from York for yonks due to injury issues.
If CH turns eventually turns out to be of the same calibre, I for one will be elated

And also played 75 mins for the u23s last night...
Interesting that he's playing for the U23s and McCleary isn't (i'm not including friendly games) - suggests that maybe that we see McCleary as part of the squad once he's up to speed and not Harriott, or maybe we don't see the benefit in playing someone in their 30s in that competition.

Thinking McCleary will be on the bench v Hull as he wasn't involved with the u23s last night.

If McCleary is fit, we might finally see Aluko in his proper place... out in the cold, alone.

Not that McCleary and his broken down scar tissue riddled body is much of a saviour anymore.

John O’Shea booked
John O’Shea then red carded for professional foul therefore will be suspended for 1 game (Brentford - a)

Bacuna booked.

Blackett fit again.
McShane, Harriott and McLeary also could be considered for a place on the bench next time out.

After today waiting to hear on Barrow and Baldock has a calf problem

Bodvarsson now crocked. No prognosis as yet, let's hope it not serious

Last night's farce saw Meite, Sims and Eza all booked.

Discipline update after 2 months

My understanding is that the new disciplinary rules this season mean that cards only count in the competition for which they were awarded. However this does not apply to the League Cup for clubs playing at steps 2-4 as per

http://www.thefa.com/football-rules-gov ... essentials

In the PL and FL 5 yellows = a 1 game ban, 10 yellows is a 2 game ban and 15 yellows is 3 games.

In the FA Cup (and League Cup for PL clubs) competition this means 2 yellows is now a one game ban with cards being "wiped" at QF stage. Also no player can miss a final through accumulating 2 yellow cards.

Strangely I can't find anything on card amnesties in the FL, presume there are a couple (usually end of November and March).

Anyone able to confirm any errors in the above, I'm having enormous problems corroborating given that all anyone in the media apparently cares about is the Premier League.

Anyway, based on the above Reading's situation after the first couple of months is

Championship - Straight Reds

1 - O’Shea (1 game ban, served v Brentford)

Championship & League Cup - Yellows

5 - Meite (will miss WBA (a))

3- Sims

2 - Kelly

1- Bacuna
1- Barrow
1- Blackett
1- Ezatolahi
1- Meyler
1- Gunter
1- O’Shea
1 - Rinomhota
1- Yiadom

Was thinking that myself! On a minutes per card basis, if he was a starter, he'd get 20 before Christmas...

Sutekh Strangely I can't find anything on card amnesties in the FL, presume there are a couple (usually end of November and March).

It's no longer a specific date. The five yellows amnesty is after 19 league fixtures and the ten yellows amnesty after 37 league fixtures.

Sutekh 5 - Meite (will miss WBA (a))

If he's had 5 yellows in total so far this season, then he won't miss West Brom - or at least not due to suspension - because one was against Watford in the League Cup.

Plays in a league with terrible referee's like Andy Davies and Charles Breakspeare.
