And not much if the fee is as low as the reported £750k buy out clause

If Charlton had a 10% sell on, we had a 40% sell on, and the fee is £750k, then we would get a massive £30k.

Just caught up with this, was on from just after 11 until 12 on Thu night. Not much that came as a surprise but good nonetheless. There was an interesting story which I assumed was from his time at Reading.

He said he was doing some coaching and scouting, and having googled I didn't realise he was working as our lead academy scout!

Anyone else seen James harpers comments about being on £1500 a week when we were in the prem?
Sensible wages back then but surprised we managed to hold onto any of our squad.

Have you missed a zero?

Sidwell was on about £12k and that was from the Championship + contract payrise because we wouldn't offer him the amount he wanted to renegotiate.

I can't believe for a second as a senior first team player in the Championship Harper was only taking home £1500 a week in the PL. Our wage bill was about £30m!

Mentions Sidwells wages tbf. But it is unbelievable he was on 'so little'.

I know Sidders said Harps is the stupidest person he'd ever met, but his agent would have had to be a literal turnip as well for that to be true! And obviously there's tight arse Hammond to factor in.

I'd have expected Harps to be on more than that at Arsenal! Let alone afterwards.

It would probably put Harps on a par with the senior Academy lads at the time.

Not sure if this is the right place for this but Marc McNulty is still a Reading player, knows where the goal is and has just started up a good strike partnership with Christian Doidge who is a 6ft 2 striker:

Should Reading try to buy Doidge in the summer and bring McNulty back into the fold so we have a ready made strike duo?

We have a lot of strikers, virtually no wingers and tend not to play two upfront.

Other than this it's not an awful idea.

I think if we were to do an XI based off who was the most harshly treated, McNulty would be there

He was never given a proper opportunity here but it wasn’t like he wasn’t showing anything in his brief cameos either, he scored one game, started the next, and was never seen again for us

And he looked well of being fully fit for a while.

I’ve never bought into that, he always looked fairly energetic and lively in his brief cameos

I always thought that was people’s justification for him not being given a proper chance
