In keeping with the random nature of the guests/format of the rebooted show, where the guest with the broadest sporting knowledgeable thus far has been..............................Anton Du Beke.

Does anyone actually still watch QoS?

It long ceased to be a sports quiz and veered straight in to light entertainment.

QoS should have been binned years ago, if not decades. It is one of the most tedious quiz shows of all time, went really downhill when Matt Dawson joined the show. Really hittable face.

I dunno, I only caught it every now and then but I liked the dynamic of the Sue Barker, Ally McCoist and Matt Dawson trio, maybe it has run it's course but I suppose when something has been running as long as QoS has, I suppose it's hard to let it go.

They've obviously tried to freshen it up with a brand new trio since last year, it'll either be successful or will whimper out, in a similar vein it took Top Gear a while to find a good team to replace the iconic Clarkson, Hammond, May trio.

Replacing of the old guard will be its death knell. When do shows actually learn that by doing this, tons leave in their droves and it gets canned or watered down.

Happened with Soccer AM and it will happen to Soccer Saturday when Stelling goes.

Be fascinating to see where Stelling ends up. If BBC had any sense they would do their utmost to contract him up, get the old guard back and run their own up to date alternative show in similar format.

Stelling is going somewhere with this show, maybe Amazon, we wait and see.

The only thing worse than watching Sue Barker is watching Sue Barker gush all over McCoist.

Seems these days it wants to be more of a “they think it’s all over” than an actual quiz but then I stopped watching regularly after Emlyn and Bill had both left.

I have given the new look QoS a chance.

Paddy McGuinness seems to be on everything (A Northern Romesh Raganathan) and if you like him, he will be brilliant, if you don't like him, he will be massively irritating. As the host, he isn't too bad, though he will (and I presume is told this by the gallery) start a conversation with one of the guests as the other team is trying to work out the answer to a question. Very wierd.

Sam Quek is equally ubiquitous; she at least exudes some semblance of enthusiasm for the show and is a good fit as a team captain, whilst Ugo Monye is frankly terrible. He comes over as being totally bored/irritated by the whole programme, and is a terrible captain (he will totally blank out team members during deliberations). If (and it is a big if) QoS stays, they need someone with more energy and positive attitude as the 2nd captain.

I think that it has changed to be more like A League of Their Own, and as such it struggles. Having non-sports people (especially more comedians) on the panels is - imho - wrong and adds nothing to the idea that it is a sports based quiz show. Also, whilst a couple of the new rounds are good (the one with the lines on the map is very good) some of the other ones just don't work. For example, having the team captains roll a plastic curling stone on wheels to try and get points is cringeworthy.

However, longer term, I think it will get canned as I think it looks and feels dated, and the BBC will be looking to totally refresh their schedules in the coming months (one former exec this week bemoaned the fact that there are back to back games shows scheduled for Saturday nights on BBC1, all of which featured "celebrities")

Hound on a more cheerful note, nice to see Ben House and Ethan Coleman back in the football league at Lincoln and Orient

That's a good move for Ben House! Lincoln are a well run team by all accounts and not to shabby at that. House bagged 15 goals in 59 appearances for Eastleigh which also is not to bad.
He must still be fairly young in his career and to early to tell if its another that got away!!

only watched him a couple of times, and tbh I didn't see too much to get excited about. Be good if he can carve out a career in the lower divs like Smith seems to be doing

We are delighted to welcome striker Sam Baldock, who has signed for the Oxford United until the end of the season.

Did anybody see what looked an overweight or just bulked up Dominic Samuel struggling to make an impact the other day v Rangers?

Another to file under "promising but may or may not make it" which is probably the case with most youngsters at most clubs as so few really do make it.
