Funny non celebration as well. Well played young man

I'm assuming Palace fans are as angry about that as a not insignificant proportion of Reading fans used to be?

I do hope so

Interesting to see he is playing 90mins regularly for them now whilst the likes of Eze are on the bench

He has had time on the bench himself and I believe Eze has started almost every game last night when he came on as sub.
A bit of the Ejaria about the non-celebration but great to see, especially against that opposition who for once didn't get any favours from the ref/VAR. .

Winston Biscuit Jose Gomes has Marítimo in the relegation zone in Portugal. They have spent the past 40 years in the top division.

He was only appointed on 14 December 22 though.

I hadn't even noticed that he left them 2 1/2 years ago, managed 3 other clubs since and now gone back to them again

In hindsight, he was here quite a long time.

Think it's a bit harsh to say it's abysmal personally - did well with Almeria in terms of results on the pitch, obviously managed to save us comfortably before it all went belly up (possibly for reasons beyond his own capabilities to be honest) and has taken over a Maritimo side that have been pretty poor for a couple of seasons now.

Having said all of that, he's limited and I wouldn't be quick to hire him anywhere to be honest. His track record, in terms of longevity at clubs, is abysmal, but not all down to his own performance I don't think (granted it will be a substantial factor in a lot of cases).

Blimey - that's worse than playing in Scotland in terms of standards

Maybe but he'll be getting paid to play football and live on/near a decent stretch of Californian coastline. Not hard to see the appeal esp. to an out of work footballer.

For those who don’t know the USL is a second division to the MSL, most famous name in that division is probably the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Orange County SC is based in Irvine which is just south of LA if anyone over that way wants to go and watch a game.

And he'll be managed by Richard Chaplow, he, formerly of Burnley, WBA and others. Chaplow's assistant is one Robert Earnshaw.

Ascotexgunner Graham Potter is now rebuilding Swansea into a good side and is gonna be an excellent manager that we missed out on. (Sorry I had to throw that in)

Interesting post from early days when this thread had more compelling content.

Were we ever linked with Potter as a manager, or was this just a remark that we didn't try to get him when we could have done?

He did a great job at Swansea and Brighton. I think his struggles at Chelsea are likely more to do with the fact that he has to deal with so much more expectation and presumably interference/internal politics from above. It seems like the fans are backing him which is good as I think he deserves a chance at one of the 'big 6' clubs.
