Sutekh A week late I know but Charlie Hurley was 86 last Tuesday. Be wonderful if it was possible to get an interview with him and his time managing the club, after all he got the club it’s first promotion in 50 years and was the only league manager who could get some sort of control on Robin Friday. Incidentally, excluding any caretakers, there’s just 7 people left now who managed the club in the 20th century, and only 2 who managed the club prior to John Madejski’s take over.

Agree, I believe he's still in the area, I think he left football completely after managing us.

1975/76 season will always be special for those of us around then as it was the first promotion for generations. I missed the Friday goal as was a midweek game, but remember the Lincoln game soon after, 16k fans which was unheard of back then in 4th tier.

I was in touch with him a few years back and IIRC he was living in the Hertfordshire sort of area.

Charlie lives in Hoddesdon, Herts. Not too far from me but I don't know exactly where.

Interesting from PInce in the post-match about next season and being able to spend to boost the squad

Pity because we’ve seen a dramatic improvement without really spending anything.
A little more of that could really set us up

I definitely think we will be able to keep a few of them on at least. I feel like we may end up signing Loum permanently, hopefully Mbengue and Carroll are kept on until the EOS at least to give them both a fair opportunity, Lumley I think would be a good addition and Hendrick may depend on availability and wage demands. Hoilett for another season as well would be good.
