Zip Ejaria could be out for a few weeks. Kelly also took a knock and Rinomhota and Ezatolahi still out. We are lacking options in this area for our biggest game of the season to date next Saturday. Let’s hope Rino can make it for that game.

Shame Reading haven't got a big enforcer type in the Academy knocking on the first team door.

Can we get Meyler back?

Let's hope Gomes can restore a bit of confidence in the team after this thrashing. We're going to need it next Saturday. Still, we have had 60% possession apparently - reminds me of Stam Days!

It's probably got to the stage where Meyler/Edwards would get a start. With Kelly, Rino, Eza all injured and possibly Ejaria, that leaves us with Baker and Swift. Surely we can't go into a relegation battle game with just those two

And six shots, only one on target.

It's Stamesque today.

Edwards is at Shrewsbury.

I'd rather play Frost, Barrett, Holsgrove, East etc than be so desperate we go back for Myler.

Not sure what the terms are for the loan agreement but if Rinomhota is still out we are going to be very short of options. Quite astonishing when you consider how overloaded we were in this area six weeks ago.

Sheff actually passing it around better than we are.
Of course, like most Champ teams, they are built for the Champ, and so they are also bigger, taller, stronger, meaner, and more physical than we are (something we haven't grasped in recent years, apparently) .

Thank fudge that is over. Wouldn't have scored if we'd played for a week.

Sod's law isn't it? Perhaps an option might be to play an old fashioned sweeper or use one of the centre backs as a midfielder.

For the record Martinez sounds as if he pulled a few useful saves out despite his utter ricket and I don't think the defence can actually be blamed too much given the soft midfield stuck in front of them which, in itself, was largely forced on them.

We needed to shift Edwards and Meyler who just weren't up to it or playing, money too good for an extremely hit and miss Bacuna... but very shortsighted to choose to bring in two soft attacking midfielders and no defensive midfielder when you know you're one injury away from having no one capable of making a tackle across the entire middle of the pitch.

I was thinking exactly the same thing.

Play Blackett in from of the defence in behind the midfield 2 with 2 wingers and Nelson up front.

This would give some bite to a midfield 3 whilst allowing support for the lone striker. 4.1.2.2.1

I do enjoy Jonathan Low’s ratings on our bad days.
Kelly gets 1 :? Our MoTM Martinez with a 5. Mostly 3’s and 4’s although Ejaria only gets a 2.

That’s isnt a bad shout given the paucity in options.

Would also want Swift and Baker to be harrying and in the face of any Rotherham players but don’t really see that happening in previous games.

Oh for Bacuna or even Ilori who could've played in that role. Can't see Rinomhota being fit if he's got ankle ligament damage. Blackett to play in midfield? McCleary?
