Pepe the Horseman Is he now our youngest ever scorer?

I think previously it was Shane Long

Shane Long scored against Derby on 31/12/2005 - Aged 18 years 11 months 9 days

Danny Loader scored against Boro' on 27/04/2019 - Aged 18 years 7 months 30 days.

Lawrie Sanchez scored on his 18th birthday (bear in mind he was a midfielder and not a striker) and IIRC was still at school.

Think he may have been told he needs to pull the trigger a bit more. Or gaining experience, as soon as he turned his marker he only had one thing on his mind.

It was interesting* that his goal sorry of came from nowhere, just a good shoulder drop to turn and then control and instinctive bend into the top corner.

By contrast a lot of the other chances I've seen him miss have come to him in the box with enough time to think, but still needing to be hit first or second time and he's seemed to choke up on the desire to take his chance.

This is what I've been wanting to see, a more instinctive and relaxed approach to just have a go. Hopefully be kicks on from here.

I think it is the same with Meite who always seems to do better when he has no time to think but shoots or heads instinctively.

Loader may be the youngest ever player to have his own HNA topic.

Discounting Rumours and Gossip? Probs. Kuhl might have had 1.

Just checked up on Kuhl as I hadn’t heard about him for a while and it doesn’t look like he’s played at a semi decent level since 2017. Sounds like he had a bad injury, but that’s still a long time.

He was going to be the saviour for RFC for a while. I thought he’d make it at a lower level.

Poor guy. Maybe he should have got that move to Man City and he would be on a different level.

Apart from the really top players at his age in the first team, I think it's natural to try and "make sure" and for the chance to often go and become harder. The goal was arguably the first time that he either a) knew what he was going to do before he did it or b) had no better options so just took it on.

Going from comments by Gomes of late, I definitely get the feeling that Loader has been told to relax and just shoot more. Hopefully, we'll see the U23 version of Loader next season in the first team where he is confident and backs himself to score.

Coniah Boyce-Clarke has one from when he turned 16. Must be the record.

know its just talk at the moment, but he is saying all the right things:

“I’ve learned a lot technically about my game this season – adapting myself to first-team football. Physically, I have come on quite a bit. And I’ll continue to get used to senior football.

“I want to get into the best shape possible over summer, to come back ready and be firing at the start of next season. I want to come back more prepared than anyone else.”

Lets face it, with Baldock, Bodvarsson and Oliveira not being here next season I would imagine we will need Danny Loader so as much as I think he isn't the answer he might be our only hope so theres no point in doing anything other than backing him to the hilt.
