The Enfield Royal71 Postpones. Utter pisstake. Don't see the rugby postponed because of rain

Ah yes, because rugby is a game where the ball is contact with the ground a lot of the time, oh wait no.

Yeah because running around with it in your hands is easy when the ground is soaking wet isn't it

Its barely raining. They are running scared and using it as an excuse.

Are clubs allowed to do their own pitch inspections now?

City ground is prone to water logging as it’s right on the Trent so not a surprise if it’s been raining persistently for the last few days.

Well seeing as the ball won’t actually move when a pitch is waterlogged, I’d say in comparison, yes.

TBF it's been chucking it down for about 18 hours here in the East Mids, with quite a bit of rain of the past week or so as well. Loads of roads around me are flooded & river levels are very high, so no surprise that the game is off - pity, as it's my "local" game & one that I usually go to.

I'll just have a rescheduled game to look forward to now, probably on a frosty Tuesday night in the middle of winter

Tim advises it was right to call it off. Standing water on the pitch and rain still falling, but drainage is an issue at the City ground with it’s proximity to the Trent

Great, another midweek trip away from home to look forward to but at least it gives a chance of further rest to help the injuries and for the new management work with the squad ahead of Millwall next week.

Yeah, the longer Bowen has to retrain this lot the better.

Hound Thought they’d be used to rain up there tbh

Annoying as fancied our chances today

Think you need to check your geography mate...seeing as it’s the ‘East’ midlands, it doesn’t rain that much. I’ve certainly not noticed much of a change since moving up here.

I’m probably the only RFC who didn’t leave their house for this but must be hugely frustrating for those of you who were on your way. it has been constantly raining for the past day...Lincoln & Grimsby games also cancelled so must be worse than other areas of the country today.

Having said all that, why not use a cover?!

Shame as we actually had a decent following for this one

Drainage shouldn’t be an issue there though. It has been pissing it down up here for 2 days straight. Chesterfield are still playing at home, as are Burton. Both teams have inferior pitches/drainage systems compared to Forest. Not only that, earlier this year in April, Notts CCC managed to play cricket 500 yards up the road, with the river at a similar level and 3 days solid rain. Forest should spend more money on sorting their ground and far less on sacking managers every 5 months.

Got as far as Leicester services. Journey up from Swindon was awlfull. Continual heavy rain all the way. Just one of those things.

At least I didn't all the way to the ground. Early call off was far better than the farce some years back at Sheff Utd. When I was literally outside the ground.
