FA Cup 3rd Round Draw

by genome » 02 Dec 2019 09:48

Always love this part of the season. It's tonight at around 7pm, we're ball number 33.

Who do you want?

I'd like an away tie at somewhere I've not been to before so that would be:
45 Maidstone United*
49 AFC Fylde
52 Hartlepool United*
53 Eastleigh*
54 Carlisle United
61 Fleetwood Town

*replay permitting

It's an obligatory Tottenham away for me.

Otherwise: Oxford, home or away

Doesn't matter who I want. It will always be Manchester United away.

Would like Wycombe away. Be great to see a Gareth Ainsworth Wycombe team in full flow.

Despite the fact they aren't even in the competition.

Any London based team away would be nice, or maybe somewhere with good rail links to London.

I have a feeling that a cup run is going to be the only potential bit of excitement for the rest of this season. One of the few this millennia where we're unlikely to get involved in either a promotion or relegation battle.

Puscas scoring a hattrick in 4 minutes wasn't exciting for you?

Hence, 'rest of the season'.

Sure, we're going to still have some interesting games where the result swings a bit - but ultimately we're not getting promoted or relegated this season, so it's hard to care that much.

7 years in a row the 3rd round game has been away, and four of those 7 were either Huddersfield or United. Hoping for better this year

I reckon we’ll get Bournemouth home though

Can't believe there are people who genuinely think we're not getting promoted this season.

What would be the 'worst' ties we could get, in terms of general interest?

I guess a repeat of whatever league game is before or after the tie?
