Sutekh
Old Man Andrews It will be so Reading to lose 0-1 to a shite Huddersfield side tomorrow. Really just want us to go hell for leather tomorrow, hopefully start 2 up top.

Can anyone remember the last time a Reading team “went for it from the off” at home in a league fixture?

That's one for the stattos out there - what is the earliest we've scored a home goal over the last couple of seasons? There was an early one from a corner (another rarity) against Hull in 2018/19 for example.

Starting XI

Reading: Rafael, Osho, Blackett, Morrison, McIntyre, Rinomhota, Pelé, Swift, Méïté, Obita, Pușcaș.
Subs: Walker, Gunter, Moore, Baldock, McCleary, Boyé, Olise, Adam, Richards.

Ejaria presumably injured or just rested.

Presusiming basic 3-5-2 formation

If anything, that's an even more balanced a side with Obita out at left wing rather than Ejaria.

Not a league game no. Bradford in the cup quarter final a few years ago was the last time I remember us going all out at the start of a game.

Reckon Obita might be playing for a new contract this evening.

Is a pre-requisite of 'going for it' scoring? Or winning?

Because we started pretty brightly against Brentford and had a couple of nice looking attacks.

Is 'going for it' from the off a particularly desireable trait? What about running out of steam or being hit on the counter?

It would depend on the stage of the season and what the consequences are for it going wrong. At this stage of proceedings we have very little to lose by being attacking from the start. We cannot go up and we cannot go down in terms of the league but what the club can do is end the season on a high and give the supporters something to get excited about. Would like the shackles to come off and be a little more swashbuckling in our approach to games, go for the kill.

Didn’t realise Huddersfield had Emile Smith Rowe. Could be dangerous.

Unfortunately so but at least it confirms it's not an issue on my end. I think it must be an iFollow issue because if I switch to just commentary there is no crackling.

Cheers guys, at least I know my TV isn't about to explode.

Looking a bit ragged after a good start. McIntyre oozes class.

Best part of the game so far was the ref being tackled. Not a classic to this point.
