Well this is a brilliant advert of why you don't make your midfield a previously uncapped teenager and very inexperienced Academy graduate who's actually a right back.

Literally no one is trying to drive forward through midfield. Not really taking anyone on. It's incredibly slow and one-paced. This tells us nothing about these young players. They need first teamers around them, not to be dumped in on their own. No protection on the flanks either. Worrying trend for free headers and no effort to block the crosses.

Puscas looking very static again. Absolutely oxf*rd all from Aluko, who should be the creative one.

Pretty dire.

Holmes looks good
Araruna and Southwood look decent.
McIntyre not doing anything wrong.

No one else really getting any credit for me.

Old Man Andrews
tidus_mi2 Lol, the team is a shambles, I get ringing the changes but what is the point in playing some of these players?

Also if this is a measure of anything, our squad depth is absolute garbage but I think we knew that already.

The point is our first team are rested for the weekend and it negates the risk of injuries to key players. 3 points against Barnsley > beating Luton in the Carabao Cup 2nd round.

I guess had crowds been allowed back at this point it would have been important to the club revenuewise, but I tend to agree, no crowd, no revenue, let's kick on in the league.

I think once we bring on our subs 2nd half we'll win this 3:1 again ... :D

Is Watson in midfield? Over Araruna?

Luton look as though they have played together before whereas the Reading team look ok individually - but as though they met for the first time 10 minutes before kick off.

To be fair the back 5 (including Southwood) look ok but we are offering nothing from midfield forwards. Holmes and McIntyre look solid as a CM partnership. Feel a bit sorry for Watson who starts for the first time in about 3 years completely out of position. Suspect we might bring on Pendlebury or ANO instead of Watson fairly quickly in the second half.

McNulty and Baldock offering very little and Puscas not much more.

Aluko has been ok apart from "the shot" if you can call it that.

Painful to watch. I've been impressed with Holmes, think it's the first time I've really seen him play. Aluko, Baldock and McNutty are all shite. Any of the subs any good?

When is Alukos contract up? Can't wait til he leaves. Utterly useless. Taking up a valuable salary.

From what I can see Aluko is doing quite well, Baldock is shocking.

Baldock's first touch tonight is reminiscent of mine.

Aluko is very much a case of looking half decent because of how bad the rest of the forwards are. He's actually doing very little, but expectations are so low for him that successfully dribbling a bit or completing a pass means he's playing well, when that should be the bare minimum starting point you expect.
