A Reminder what "EXTREME SCORES" are:
We used to get at least one wag a week posting 7-0 or something
a "Look at me" rather than an honest prediction
We brought in a bonus/penalty for extreme scores.
The extreme score is the highest GD (both home and away) so those BOLDED below are extreme.
If you are an extreme prediction (like I am this round) you are docked three points if the result is
(1) The opposite. (eg We predict away win and it's a home win).
In the case below, should Forest WIN, then those predicting a Reading win by two goals all drop three points, BUT if they are extreme AND CORRECT they get a 5-point BONUS.
(2) In the case of a draw, it is possible for two sets of extremes to be penalised.
Example: say I predict 0-3, Morganb predicts 3-0 and the result is 0-0
In today's game, John Smith has predicted 1-0. He only gets deducted if Reading WIN. If it's a draw, he is less extreme than those predicting RDG to win by two goals.
Very, VERY occasionally we get a set of predictions where nobody is being too optimistic or pessimistic. Example, the only predictions are 1-0 either way or a draw. Usually, that week, I don't penalise anybody. The exception would be if say half the Nobbers thought RDG 1-0, the rest said 0-0 or 1-1 and 1-2 people say 0-1
