Snowflake Royal Getting one of the two penalties we were due would have been nice and made a wee difference.

Football does not work like that

Not to mention the second one would have seen Swansea down to 10.

clauski Today's as reflective as any game this season really. We've clearly improved on last year, and we are a good Championship team. But we're not yet a great Championship team. Too many inconsistencies, not enough strength from the bench to make a difference when we need it. I think we'd all have taken 7th place at the start of the season, however disappointing it is now. But we need to keep hold of a few players and strengthen some more in the Summer to make it count next year.

Don't count your chickens. Lose the last 2 and could be as low as 10th.
(tho would still have taken that at start of season)

edit: 9th

Today’s match didn’t matter anyway, no chance of playoffs. Last 3 months have been so poor, toothless up front and tempo too low. Would have taken 7th at the start of the season, but given the start to the season, it’s not great. Pauno needs to learn quickly if we are to improve next year because this style of football is too lethargic.

Tetek looks like a good prospect. I suspect 21/22 could be a breakthrough season for him.

Ignore him. He's playing thick for attention.

I read it as an ironic dig at such comments earlier in the year.

If only we scored in the 1994 playoff final we would have won the CL by now

It is.

If we lose our best player, it would kill our club. Of course Ian is too dim to understand

He is our best young player and we need to not sell him otherwise we will be oxf*rd.

Don't understand what is controversial about that...

Lethargy sums it up. Our best 45 minutes this season was the first half at home to Bournemouth, where our energy and intensity was too much for them.

But the squad have looked mentally fatigued and haven't been able to respond to pressure and bad results recently.

I don't buy the narrative that we overachieved due to a lucky opening run and streaky form from Joao. We just didn't have the stamina. A young, thin squad without the depth and experience of being in a promotion race which has played out over the past 6 weeks or so.

The huge unknown is what happens to our squad over the summer, can we strengthen etc. But if we can keep departures down to Olise, Aluko, Esteves,
Semedo and Baldock and strengthen with savvy recruitment we will kick on.

Time for the club to sort out outgoings now to improve the finances.

Olise is the obvious one...can’t afford to let him go on a free next summer.

Will Swift want to stay? I’d like a midfield 3 of him Laurent & Rino. And he’ll prob be in lower demand now he’s been injured this season.

I’d sell Puscas...stock will likely be high enough on the continent to warrant a decent enough fee. Can’t imagine he’ll be happy sitting on the bench.
