Seriously, if BMTH win the PO's and three recently-relegated clubs go back up
what is the total disbursement to the Championship?

Mid Sussex Royal With Norwich and Watford (and maybe Bournemouth) going up could we be able to offer better contracts to Tmac etc?

My understanding is their remaining parachute payments are distributed to the remaining clubs in the championship when promoted back to the premier league.

Will also make a more level playing field with less clubs with parachute payments next season.

Interesting- never heard that before but makes sense

If you Google for parachute payments then there appears to be a couple of different opinions (guesses). Some sites think the EFL should get the money freed up by Norwich and Watford being promoted - it sounds like the EFL need to go cap in hand to the PL to request this. Other sites say the money could go back into the PL kitty and be divvied up between the (existing) Premier League sides.

What would next season's parachute payment be?

£12m?

So £36m? Or all the remaining years included? If so could be close to £100m to go somewhere...

Does some go back to the PL? Some go to the FL?
Some go down the leagues?

Conservative £1m each club if it happens?

Would make a PO Final loser quid in. Whole Wembley gate. TV money for an extra 3 games, plus two extra games, plus a share of three parachute payments.

TBF, the PL Clubs barely get a pittance. Seems reasonable.

The parachute payments go back to the Premier League so they can all have what is essentially a pittance against what they already get. It used to get redistributed to the EFL but they stopped that several years back.

Franconian Royal I've read what you have all said and this would be my way of doing it:

Sell Moore and Puscas. Something has happened to Moore. It's as if his agent is whispering sweet nothings into his head. He's not been the same for a while.
Puscas - 9m worth of striker on the bench as someone has already said, no need for him to warm the bench. He's done ok, but for 9m, it's not enough. Not entirely his fault, but it looks as if Bowen had and Porno has no idea how to play the guy. He's not a João.

Keep Morro on for another year. His experience his good. Offer him a coaching position at the end of his contract.

TMac, Holmes, Rhino, Laurent, Swift, Olise etc (we know which players I mean) should be signed up for a longer period (2-3 years).

Tetek etc with a lot of talent - keep!!! This kid could become real quality. He looks confident. Porno knows him (from the U19 WC, I think). Develop the youngsters and really give them belief they can break through.

Aluko, Baldock etc - get rid.

Paunovic did not know Tetek before he came to Reading. Tetek was 12 when Paunovic left Serbia and has only started representing Serbia due to Paunovic discovering him at Reading.

As for Puscas - I’m not sure why we paid the fee we did, but why would his transfer fee have any impact upon whether we sold him? He’s a 1-in-3 striker at this level, exactly what you want on your bench. We’re probably going to lose Joao this summer and we’re definitely seeing the last of Baldock, do we really want to try to build a whole new strike force?

I think we've done that before. Kept one and added three.
Following season was somewhat successful

Think Tetek is still eligible for call up by England as well.

Well when I saw him v Cardiff for the first time proper, bombing in from the right and scoring from a very tight angle and leaving Cardiff players for dust, I could see why, but since then, seen nothing like that from him. Maybe QPR away and the Wigan hatrck.
Clearly we know what he can do and offer but I'm mystified why we never see it.

I’m sick of Brentford tbh. If they stay down they’ll just be good again

Bournemouth could definitely start crumbling if they don’t go up as they are paying prem wages etc

Gotta agree, get rid of a team most likely to be challenging up the top end again next season, by that logic then, either Brentford or Swansea. If Bournemouth don't go up they'll probably start sweating FFP a bit as parachute payments only last 2 seasons these days.

So is that Brentford up to get rid of them?

Bournemouth (if we get money out of it) > Barnsley >>>> Brentford >> >>> Swansea >Bournemouth (if there's no money in it for us)

Brentford will get something wrong eventually and drop down the table - things go in cycles. The longer they fail to make the jump the more likely it is that they will make some errors with their recruitment.

I think, personally, no one has played Puscas properly and he's got the strain of a big transfer fee for an unproven striker on his back. Granted he has improved his hold up play, but I don't think Porno etc., know exactly what to do with him. He's not a João, but they keep on playing him up front on his own.

As for Tetek, my sincerest apologies. I thought he would have known Tetek.

I would convince João to stay on until this time next season. Dangle a carrot in front of him. Let him have a break and hope he comes back firing next season.
