TiagoIlori Any manager that doesn’t go defensive against a load of part timers with professional players will do.

That counts Hughton out then! Destroyed Forest’s attacking intent.

Happy with a temp manager to be honest as long as he can keep us up. My 3 choices by preference who is realistic right now. We need someone tough.

1) Colin
2) Neil
3) Hughton

We won't poach a manager so it'll be someone without a club.

There is one word that my 3 choices have. Experience! We need a highly experienced manager at this level, not a foreign nobody like Pauno, Gomes or Stam. Nor an inexperienced Reading legend who may tarnish their fan appreciation if we go down. We haven't had an experienced manager for a long time.

Alex Neil for me personally. We need someone who knows the Championship well as others have said, and with half decent players he did well at Norwich, and remarkably given the way we are playing, we do still have a large number of decent footballers. They just need more structure to play Championship football and Alex Neil sides always struck me as playing to a plan and a structure.

Not a chance that will happen, you wouldn`t need to google his name to find out who he is.

Warnock until the end of the season. I have a great deal of respect for Ainsworth and I like Alex Neil who’d both be good long term managers.

Even going back to the days of Maurice Evans I would go to games home and away with an idea of how we’d play and you knew that even in certain games if we were playing badly we’d have the ability to throw the kitchen sink at it at the end of games especially if we were at home attacking the Tilehurst End/North Stand. I feel that since the days of Brian I have no clue what kind of performance I’ll see when I go to games.

Trying to play like Man City or Brendon Rogers Swansea has never worked for us. I wish Brendon had got more support and time all those years ago. Right now I’d even be happy playing like the crazy gang if it gets us out of trouble.

Former Reading centre-back Ibrahima Sonko is in talks with the Royals over a potential managerial position at the club, The72 can exclusively reveal.

I honestly thought that was a joke. Lovely stuff. Tbf he's got about as much experience as Murty and Jobi.

And name any player that will argue with him (with the possible exception of Carroll, if he were to still be here)

We haven’t got a pot to p*ss with the business plan, so I don’t see we are going to afford to sack Pauno and coaching staff let alone pay someone else to come in.

Surely it would be gardening leave until their contracts run out if they were to go?

In terms of replacements, obviously someone without a club as we couldn’t pay a fee, so I would look at the following until end of season-
1- Colin, one final challenge for his love of the game, genuinely think he would take it til end of season
2- Jobi, fan favourite, will boost bond with fans again
3- O’Shea, was very popular with the players

Please not Sonko, but looking at where he’s been coaching in Belgium I actually think this could happen - no smoke without fire and he would jump at it.

When we talked about getting one of the 106 team legends back Sonko wasn’t the first to spring to mind.

We need experience or an absolute maverick to shake everything up.

Have a bloody word, Sonko has zero managerial experience, not that I`ve seen anyway, we might as well put the tea lady in charge.

As mentioned elsewhere it's more likely he's taking over the academy side and someone's got their wires crossed.
