Lots if hard work and resolve in the squad in my view, and we will be harder to beat than last season. But goals are the big thing. We need Joao fit most of the season, which it looks like we're already struggling with. And I think Ejaria could be a big difference maker with Swift gone. Last season he had a stinker of a season to be honoured (Fulham aside), but he is capable of better and he really has an opportunity to show what he's capable of.

If all that happens, we could surprise people. But equally an injured Joao and underachieving Ejaria and we're looking at a relegation battle.

If today is anything to go by, it's going to be a real struggle.

So on the back of 4 games without a goal Ince has said he wants Sarr to sign so Mcintyre can play LB or midfield. Lovely.

McIntyre would have been rinsed by Bowler.

Nice oxf*rd you to NGW and Fornah too.

I don't think Tom is flexible enough for a midfield position-on Saturday we saw him giving the ball away that almost led to a second goal.
Just play them in their right positions ffs.

Don’t tell Ian. He is convinced TMac is Ince’s first choice centre back.

Now then master Royal....

He says he still wants a LB and had just brought Loum in to play midfield alongside Hendrick so doubt he sees McIntyre as a long term solution in either

Ince’s recent interviews don’t feel me with much confidence. He’s coming across as very downbeat and already making excuses. It sounds like he doesn’t expect us to be competitive until the end of August. Maybe it’s just the way I am interpreting it but it feels like we should write off August.

A no win situation. Set a low bar then there's an opportunity to measure incremental progress. A team of strangers isn't to gel overnight.

Can we stop with the team of strangers nonsense please.

Our squad includes, Yiadom, Holmes, McIntyre, Dann, Moore, Tetek, Ejaria, Ince, Hoilett, Meite, Azeez, Joao, Puscas, Camara and Clarke who've all spent at least the last year training and playing together. That's 15 players. We had 4 new signings in our starting line up last saturday, not 9.

Last season we were joined by Rahman, TDB, Hoilett, Drinkwater, Dann and Halilovic.

Lumley, Hendrick, Fornah, NGW, Long and Loum is not an especially large intake of first team players.

Just technicalities but the group you mention have not been playing and training together for a year. Some joined half way through last season, some have been injured for extensive periods, some don’t count as part of the squad when it suits you....
The list of players you have as new to the squad is incomplete. Hutchinson is new, Bouzanis is new....

But the general point is decent. Every team starts the season with new players, most of our newcomers have had a decent preseason with us. While they won’t yet be a smoothly oiled machine it’s hardly a bunch of random strangers pulled from the crowd at 2.55 on matchday.

IN the grand scheme of things the number of new players who started isn't huge. But thats not what you look at.
It is a team of strangers, not many of the starting line up played together in partnerships last season.
Entire backline with the GK.
New LB with Ejaria - a key understanding was not there
2 new CM in front of 2 young but fairly experienced CBs This partnership and understanding is vital.
Meite was out injured for 90% last season. Ejaria was not really involved for huge parts of last season. So the partnerships with players like Hoilet, Ince are not quite there.

Can't say no to a Prem move but a strange one when the view at the club was that he would move to get first team football - can't imagine he'll get near the first team there, certainly not this year.

Probably took the first offer he could to get away from our training regime.

There is nothing wrong with our training regime. Practising sliding tackles on each other for 30 minutes is a perfectly reasonable for a warm up.

Means we should be in for a compensation pay out, no? Now we are cat 2 though does that mean we get less?

Dorsett should have been given a chance in the friendlies. If Kilmarnock think he is good enough to play in the SPL....
