Brogue interesting that we have so many subject matter experts on this topic. making a lot of assumptions based on nothing.

Things we know

We got an allocation of 3093 tickets
They sold out within 30 minutes.
Loyalty points were not used
Season ticket holders were not prioritsed.
You were able to buy 4 tickets in one purchase

Things we don't know

Everything else.

Imagine if this sort of “known/unknown” thinking was extended to all threads in Hobnob?!

Silver Fox
Green Has anyone mentioned that Charlton took 9000 fans up there in the 3rd round and made a jolly good beano of it?

If not, then that ^

Why did Charlton take 9000 to Man United v Everton?

I'm sure if we hadn't played Utd in 15 years, rather than 3 in 5, and were in a League Cup QF, not a 3rd round game, we'd have taken 9k too.

We were only allocated 3k, that's the issue. Keep up Ian.

Think it’s you who need to keep up. We weren’t ‘allocated’ 3k…..

Semantics is about subtle meanings of words, it is often used as an excuse for being wrong.
We weren’t allocated 3k. Our allocation was 9k but for understandable reasons we opted to not take the full 9k.
Keep up…..

Portsmouth paid just £20 per ticket and took 9000 to White Hart Lane recently….just saying.

The ticket prices I can't argue with there, but taking 9k to a game that's what, 90 minutes away from where they are on a Saturday dinner time is much different to those travelling 3-4 hours at 8pm on a Saturday night, probably not getting back until the early hours next morning.

Portsmouth do have a good away following as well, whereas ours seems to have improved I've thought since Covid (that being the away games I've been to), but we are hardly known for our away following.

The debate centres on how understandable those reasons are.

There's no need to be a pcunt about it, nameless.

The club hasnt apologised either that's what makes me more annoyed. I shouldn't be as I got a ticket but I'm annoyed for the disappointed regulars who I know who missed out.

I'm not. I got 2 tickets, haven't been to more then 1 game per season properly in god knows how many years, and if people missed out they weren't quick enough.

I don't cry about missing out on Glasto tickets. It's just football that's literally on TV.

A free hit

A 4, 5 nil loss won’t bother too many people too much here…..it’s expected.

Anything less than a 4, 5 nil win for ‘you’ probably will

Without actually reading half this thread how were tickets released?

I thought they were initially STH only but you could buy 4.

EDIT: Nvm just looked on the site. Holy cow how shambolic. I also don’t understand the reasoning for saying All STH AND members with 25+ points. They didn’t really need the season ticket holder bit as they will by default be a member with 25+ points. Bizarre.

Deffo agree I think they were paranoid about any unsold seats. Grossly miscalculated.
