Plenty of frothing on twitter because the club are disrespecting fans with a lighthearted post and not announcing the deduction.

Of course as the club have to announce the deduction before the EFL do.

Anyway, looking at when the EFL tweeted out their last 2 decisions, they were at 4.30pm and 5pm UK time - so if it is to be today, it's likely still 3 hours away.

I did wonder if they keep strict office hours. Considering the nonsense that goes on on transfer deadline day I've always assume they do

Only thing I was disappointed with was that it wasn't cricket related!

You think the 11pm deadline is due to office hours?

Are we there yet?

This is worse then waiting for my wife to give birth to our first child!

(By the third we didn't need a midwife - we needed a ring of slip fielders!)

Hound
Stranded
Hound Business plan and FFP are pretty different though. Business plan is really for this year and back end of last year. This years accounts aren’t due for 12 months

We could very easily break the business plan and go nowhere near breaking ffp which is what I assume we’ve done

Unless we broke ffp last year and they are punishing us on that - which would be a bit harsh tbh. And our accounts suggest we were prob under 13m loss on ffp

Or we haven’t broken tbe business plan either and it’s some old offence

Which is why I am currently holding off on attacking those currently running the day to day, as we still don't know the offence. If it turns out we have breached because we turned down a deal for Joao - who has barely played then they deserve all the stick they can get - if it ends up being an overlooked punishment from the Gourlay days then I will be more forgiving of the current incumabents as we will have done what was expected and kept us competitive (if horrible to watch).

I hope we get to see the details of what the breach was, and by how much we have breached by.

Yeah exactly that really

I’m struggling to understand how we’ve managed to get this penalty still tbh - either done something kind blowingly stupid, it’s a very minor breach (surely it must be with the EFL watching our every move) and possibly something debatable or it is something historic that got overlooked first time round

Intrigued and bored by it at the same time

The business plan put in place to force us to be within FFP

Random conspiracy theory time.

There is no deduction coming. This is all a plan by Ince to build a siege mentality, us against them that he would have seen used by SAF at United many times. He is using the points deduction as it is an available lever to say, look even the EFL want us down, let's show them.

Story broken by a journalist after a tip off from Ince. Only person stating it is definitely coming is Ince. Press reporting that as fact. "Deadlines" come & go, definitely next week. Definitely during the break. Definitely in next 24/48 hours.

Problem is he and the players aren't good enough to use the mentality effectively.

Leak only came out after view was we were already safe, extra impetus to keep trying to pick up points.

Stated above fully expecting deduction at some point.

That would be stupid and I don’t think Ince is smart enough to think of it and pull it off.

But would be funny I guess.

I would hope that Ince is telling the team that we have alreadfy got the deduction, so we are 1 place above the drop zone and need to battle and dig deep for every single point between now and the end of the season, rather than think we are safe.

Starting today; a draw would be a great result.

Apart from Holmes and Yiadom they don't come across as the totally committed, them against us battlers but perhaps they will surprise us today and for the rest of the season.

Still think it will be a difference of opinion on an accounting treatment. Club says something is OK and therefore we're compliant with the business plan (and P&S) but EFL disagrees with the club's interpretation. Club has two options then

1. Accept EFL's position and take the 6 points
2. Club (Mr Dai) argues the toss, takes legal and other professional opinions, and drags out the process (probably resulting in pissing off the EFL and risking a greater deduction)
