STH, will you renew next season?

by tidus_mi2 » 18 Mar 2023 19:48

With dwindling attendances and speaking with my Dad who was saying he really isn't enjoying it any more and frankly neither am I, I think we're both in the position where we genuinely won't renew next season, I think they'll get me for another season if they get rid of Ince in the summer but for now I'm keeping it simple with the responses.

I've set the poll to be able to change your vote since I know situations might change between now and next season.

Perennial thread

Success brings bigger gates
Losing doesn’t (unless of course, you are Portsmouth, Bradford, Ipswich etc etc  ).

Ipswich’s attendances picked up in the season they got relegated, due to a change in ownership. Before that they were declining like ours. No surprise that ours has declined since Dai’s careless leadership of the club

Walked out 18 months ago. Vowing never to return until Dai is banished and exposed for the arrogant, egotist individual he is.

The smell I fear is getting even worse. May well be connected to Novembers payroll going unpaid. Until another source of funds was found ( Dai's sister? )

06:12 AM EST, 12/12/2022 -- China Dili (HKG:1387) hired Grant Thornton Advisory Services to conduct an independent forensic investigation into two onshore overdue bank loans.

In October, the agricultural products company received two litigation claims in China, where the defendants are seeking approximately 1.15 billion yuan. Third-party companies and a controlling shareholder, Dai Yongge, borrowed the said loans.

The company requested to suspend all trading on Oct. 28 in relation to the litigation, according to a Monday filing.

The shares of the Company remain currently suspended.

The EFL must be aware of this. Might explain the silence. If the matter is ongoing. Makes you wonder if the £140k in question is just part of a much larger fraud conducted by Dai. Might be a billionaire on paper. But his foray into UK football couldn't have come at a worse time business wise and from a perspective of RFC achieving promotion.

Yes I’ll renew even with the expected price rises.

Been watching since 1971
Seen worse.
I come away from games like today effing and Jeffing but will probably be at Bristol in a few weeks
Season ticket will be renewed as usual

I think I’m some sort of nut job who just likes putting myself through it season in season out

I’m a STH I’ve been to about 50% of the games. Today I couldn’t be arsed driving in from London- the team clearly can’t so why should I?

Made the right decision. Fcuk them.

Undecided, I need to see a future for this team, bored of operation rebuild every summer and a club full of loan players. Appreciate it’s been hard under an embargo. If we get the point deduction I am not sure I can trust the owners going forward.

Will renew but only because my ST will be half price from next season, which is all it's worth based on the standard of football.

Expect to renew despite money being a bit tight. I would be surprised if the club increase prices given the struggles and they'll want fans in the stadium to get behind the team.

RG30 Yes I’ll renew even with the expected price rises.

Not seen anything about an expected price rise? Where did you see that, or just heard on the grapevine?

It would be pretty hard to swallow, but I guess football clubs aren't immune from everything going up.

Said I wouldn`t last year, I did, saying I`m not this year, let`s see what the summer brings, probably won`t do it in June though, it`s unlikely I`ll lose my seat.
I wouldn`t have thought there will be that many new STHs queuing round the block.

Club is certainly at a low point but a) this was fully expected and b) it really should improve going forwards

Were we so teeth grindingly negative when we had Gourlay and Clement at the helm with a 100 massively overpaid players and staring at relegation? Can’t really remember but that was proper dark days

It doesn’t seem long ago we were all saying great to see a proper structure, proper scouting coming in etc. has the 6 point deduction changed this?

Anyway probably will. Not coz the football is great but generally enjoy going for the social and just enjoy watching football live

This was my first one for a while but I won’t be renewing next season. I prefer away games tbh and I shall go back to going to around 10 of each. Also, as I have to work in Chesterfield a fair bit I like to watch them and atm it’s far better than watching us.

Depends entirely on whether I can afford it, I don't demand a particular level of performance (although I'd like to see it) so this season's results are totally irrelevant to my decision tbh

I'll be renewing RoyalsTV and would recommend it as a (much) cheaper halfway house that still funds the club for anyone who plans on giving up their ST.
