From Despair To Where?
If Little had a similar problem, I guess he compensated by running like a bow legged hunchback having an asthma attack, which had the extra benefit of fooling full backs into thinking he was dead on his arse after 5 minutes.

Wilder gone from 4/1 to 1/4 in the last hour apparently. I'm ear wigging in the office.

That's quite interesting. If you'd asked me to rank them without looking, then of the managers I've seen I'd have put Bullivant easily at the bottom. Even though Burns was very disappointing, I (incorrectly it seems) remember him as being a slight improvement.

First season in L1(eqiuv) he probably was, finishing about 10th/11th. But we finished dreadfully under him in Champ(equiv) and were dreadful under him.that second L1 season with Pards having to come in.

I'm constantly amazed how well Stam features, given how utterly awful we were at the end of his tenure.

And Paunovic is really saved by Bowen's good summer work and that first couple of months.

I still can't believe that's even a genuine thought. Do you honestly believe this or do you just not like Paunovic that much?

You've only got to look at the facts.

Paunovic took over on the dawn of the new season. Bowen did all of pre-season.

Paunovic's success was all front loaded in his first season and got increasingly worse the longer he was in post.

The signings we know Bowen has been heavily involved in have largely been a big success.

Bowen has been brought back to the club. Paunovic has gone no where. The facts speak for themselves.

Right ok then, I'll go with the latter then, you didn't actually like him that much.

Nobody was suggesting you should do, I just wanted to know.

I still find it baffling that you believe Bowen's pre-season built Pauno's early success. Then when it suddenly all dried up, it was the current manager's fault etc. It just seems like you're building a narrative that all the good work done at the club is Bowen's responsibility, everything else is down to poor management and not down to him.

I don't actually mind Bowen or anything, but not everything good at the club is because of him. Especially not when comparing managers with different styles completely.

Is it not just the case that someone lumped on Wilder, and now everyone is?

Yeah probably. I put a £10.00 on the Notts County manager so that won’t be winning.

Not sure what good summer work Bowen particularly did to aid Pauno. Josh Laurent aside, it was the same squad that had a piss poor end to the season followed by a covid enforced short close season .

Bowen’s win record as interim manager would be up there with the better managers I think . His record as a permanent at the lower end .

I generally have this feeling that the more supposedly technical managers did better during Covid without fans whilst those who were more driven by tempo and energy fared better with supporters.

Reckon If we’d rehired Bowen when the crowd restrictions were lifted we’d have made the play offs ;-)
