James Harper...

by Royalee » 03 Nov 2007 20:22

When you learn to tackle, head the ball, follow things up, pass the ball to one of our players, dribble, move forward and hold players off, you may be worthwhile having in a Premiership midfield. Unfortunately, you do not appear capable of any of these things, which is why third rate teams like Fulham dominate our midfield and you need to piss off back to the Football League where you belong.

Not one of his best performances but what are your wise and considered views of Hunt today?
Yes he was on the pitch again for the whole 90 minutes in case you didn't notice.

My views on Hunt today are that he was shite. However, Harper has been consistently shite all season.

Harper is premiership standered and ok he might have one or two off games but every is allowed them. All of our players are premiership standered, if they are not why are they here?

A midfield of Fae and Gunnarsson doesn't bear thinking about.

And how many games have you been to without your pre conceived ideas and bigotism?

None, I used to rate Harper, but this season has confirmed what I was beginning to think last year - Sidwell carried Harper.

Not sure what games you've been watching, but for me Harper has one of the few positives this season.

It's a shame that he hasn't had a partner to help him out though.

As for Sidwell carrying Harps, I think thats rubbish. They worked well as a partnership yes, and the partnerships we've seen this season haven't been half as good, but thats down to a lack of a replacement, not just because Siddy carried him.

Ah right, now I understand. Perhaps if you'd been at Sunderland, Portsmouth and Blackburn as well as today, you might see a pattern emerging in Harper's play.

How is 3 games out of 12 'a pattern'?

Because Royalee says so. Any way his pattern is: Reading lose, let's blame the players I don't like, and roll out the same old crap

Chelsea ran through us as soon as they made changes, Wigan ran through us at home, as did Derby at times. Add to that West Ham and I think you'll fid it's more than just three games.

So rather than being poor all season, your now saying he has played badly in four games. Who would you say played well in all four of those games which cause Harper to look so poor in comparison?

Perhaps we should sack Coppell now and appoint you Royalee as obviously Coppell isn't up to the job if he can miss Harper being carried for a whole Premiership season (and finish 8th) where as you obviously have your finger on the pulse.

 it would get ripped through week in week out. Harper has worked so hard this season and he has off games but so does the whole team.

And it was all down to Harper's deficiencies?

btw we won two of the four examples (good job Harper was on the pitch at the end of the Wigan game - or had you gone home early in disgust?) - and Chelsea's victory was largely down to the introduction of a World Class player or two along with their withdrawal of the most ineffective midfielder on the night.
